Hi,

I am looking for a top notch, high quality reseller provider (preferably one that only does providing reselling services, not hosting itself). Instead of posting at the request forum, I would like to know from other resellers which company you use, how your experience with the is and so on. Please give me links, price estimates, experiences etc. Thank you!

Jacco

Well, the truth is that there are many! I won't name them as they're already too much advertised or discussed in this forum. Although I'd like to say that the only way to not have problems is to be really lucky! As even the best companies that provide resellers accounts, had, have or will have problems, like all the other companies!(with lower frequency but problems will exist). So I guess is more to not be on the the wrong server the wrong time.

Do a search, you'll find many experiences posted. www.mchost.com and www.splashhost.com come up a lot.

Go with MCHost they're the top of the line. Plus they dont compete with your business.

What does it matter if they offer hosting or not, reseller providers should be completely anonymous.

Are you saying Mchost is not anonymous? Who provides "anonymous" services?

I think it does matter ...if for some reason the reseller's client finds out about who they are reselling for and the reseller provider offers cheaper plans, they might just go with them directly. Of coure, thats just my view on the topic.

And yes, MCHost is as anonymous as it gets :)

I think it's important not to compete in hosting with your reseller account provider. There isn't a reseller that's 100% anonymous. If I look hard enough, I can find out if you are a reseller. Resellers should be forthcoming when asked if they resell hosting.

If you resell hosting and your resold provider offers more features for less money, the customer might feel like he got the short end of the stick. The same applies to dedicated providers offering shared accounts.

I'm not sure that it matters too much whether you resell for a host that also sells individual plans or for one that just sells reseller plans.

For example, let's say you are reselling a plan for $19.95, and a client finds out that you get your plans from a company that only sells reseller plans, and goes to their website to see what they have to offer.

That client then notices that for the same price or a little more money that they can also get themselves a reseller plan and make money so they decide to get into the reseller business. I admit it probably won't happen that often, but I'm sure it has happened.

It could happen even if you have your own dedicated server, the custom could look at the ips and see that it belongs to xxxx company.

Yes, with google, there is no such thing as 100% anonymous.

I dont think its a big deal to offer shared hosting and also reseller plans...

Reseller plans are usually on different boxs anyway using sometimes a different controll panel as the shared hosting customers.

We like to offer Internet Solutions not just a reseller plans.

Kind regards

Coming back to the question, in my foolish opinion, the best reseller plan is one that uses truly redundant data enter with multi-homed bandwidth , top notch hardware [minimally a scsi hard-disk], has redundancy of your server boxes through a slave or mirroring, gives you remote secondary DNS, has 24x7 live chat, phone support, loads no more than 10 resellers on a box , has admins who know how to secure a box and so on ad nauseum

But such a reseller plan will cost at least 100$/mo for 2gb space and 20gb bandwidth

Now I would like to know if resellers would be interested in such a plan!

This is just my opinion anyways!
