Hi,

I am a web developer creating websites with a cms. I would like to offer a website and an integrated cms for a small setup fee and include the hosting for a monthly fee.

I don't want to buy a whole dedicated server until I have a few clients that can actually pay for it.

And I cannot use a shared reseller account because my cms will not work well on it. It needs a VPS (at least) with lots of ram.

I was think that every time I have two clients I will rent a single VPS and put them on it. When I have several client on multiple VPS's I will consolidate all on a single dedicated server.

Is this a viable plan and what are the problems with it.

Thanks.

Which CMS is that that needs a VPS? You will have access to more RAM on a reseller account than a VPS very likely simply because reseller accounts have much less overhead than a VPS.

I want to use typo 3. This also needs a lot of cpu power. I have tried it on both a shared account and vps and a vps has worked best for me.

I suppose the reseller account -> dedicated server is the usual way people grow so using a vps instead is not that strange.

Thanks.
