Hello WHT!
I am looking to get opinions on a new project I have been working on with a friend. We are currently in works for making a new order form for Modernbill 4.4 that would replace the old lenghty one with a 2 step (3 if you count the processing) one. This would be similar to what Rorder currently does, but with a nicer interface, less bugs, and couple of special features we have cooked up.
So, with a show hands ;), how many Modernbill users would be willing to purchase a modification like this? Do you have any feature suggests and yes before you ask there will be one made for Modernbill 5.x as soon as the 4.4 version is released.
Any questions you have, feel free to respond or if it is of a private nature then just PM me.
Thanks all,
John

I think most people are looking to move away from MB all together right now.
It might not be something that's all that marketable and therefore not really worth the time.
If it's something you'll be doing for yourself anyways and thought you my aswell offer it to others at a reasonable fee this could work out for you.
If you were hoping to make this into a profitable product with many sales it may not work out as well as you're hoping.
I'm sure it will be a fun project either way.

I do believe that after the fiasco of Modernbill v5, and the way it was released and continues to be released that many users have been disgusted with it. But, I do know of many people who still use it and would like to get a much nicer order form. However, I don't think "most people" are moving away from it. I have seen a few people change, but I don't think it is as many as you seem to think it is.
However thanks for your comments and hopefully we can get this project out before the end of the month.

I agree with messa on this. I myself used to be a MB client until they came out with v5 and alienated a lot of their client base. Unfortunately i think you really missed the boat on the height of the popularity of MB.

We moved away from Modernbill after they "released" their version 5. I don't see why we should pay to basically beta test their new version. It should not be version 5, but should be version 1, since it is totally new software. It is NOT an upgrade.
We moved to www.awbs.com, and despite the stupid (and ugly) template system, it is very powerful software. It has everything MB has, plus more.
I would like to see a good order system alternative for AWBS if you're interested in making one. (They do offer an orderAPI, which you could use...)

Personally I think the gathering you recieved here is actually wrong, since ModernBill and ModernGigabyte is still going strong.
They make there mistakes, but everyone is used to this by now with all companies and "NO ONE" was required to upgrade.
There are many people still using MB V 4.x until 5.x gets to a completely stable point.
And for most people with a large client base, switching software isn't fully realistic.

We are planning to release the script sometime next month and for those of you who would like to get your hands on it, we will be sure to make a post here on WHT and the Modernbill Forums to let you know. Thank you for your support and comments on this.
