Okay... i just installed WHM Auto Pilot for one of my clients (he sent me the files). Is there any way I can check if its a legal copy or not?

I don't know the "tricks" for WHMAP as I don't use it. But the easiest way is that almost all illegal copies have some sort of comments in it, as groups like to brag that they did it. I would check to see if there are any such types of comments in the PHP files.

The most obvious way though is to contact WHMAP and ask them.

I looked but couldnt find much. Should I talk to WHMAP about it?

Nullified is illegeal, there are plenty of nullified PHP scripts floating in the Warez/Priacy world. You can find old version of Modernbill, WHMAP, vBulletin, and many more. This illegal and anyone using it runs the risk of a possible lawsuit if ever caught.

99%?

I would ask them to remove the software if they hosting the download or your suspect their using a nullified copy of the software. Send them a polite request, if they fail to respond, try calling them. If neither get you anywhere, you have done your job and are ok to suspend them. I would not delete their account so hastily.

Nullified just stops the need for a license, and Companies do sell "nullified" software, so that you don't need licenses, not whmap, and only very few do it , hence 1% ;)

I talked it over with the user, he said that his friend gave him the script and asked me to remove it.

I also opened a ticket with WHMAP, but of course they didnt respond in time.

I dont think this is something very urgent so whmap would want to answer immediately.

What did you ask them anyway?

My opinion, you are not supposed to spy on your customer. If you suspect something illigal something like this, ask the client first (which you did), only after then, if you are not satisfied still, then contact whmap.

If it were just on the server and I saw it, i would simply ask them about it...

However, if they ask me to install something that I expect is illegal, and then I cannot contact them, I want to talk to someone who can simply tell me if the license is legal or not.

btw... WHMAP came back and confirmed that it was, in fact, an illegal copy of their software.

If we are getting technical, then I have to disagree with you. Nullifying is the process of removing the need for software licenses, and removing any callback to developers(after a successful install usually, the application calls back to the developer to notify them that a installation has occurred).

No developer sells nullifiied versions of their scripts, just scripts without the need to enter licenses, and no callbacks. Big difference. Nullified scripts are 100% illegal, always.

Yup always illegal. Any modification to the script ie copyright info call backs you name it (apart from your own mods and custimization) is illegal unless you have consent from the script software owner.
