That sounds just like Code Red/Nimda. Are you sure you installed all IIS hotfixes? MS has a tool called HFNETCHK; http://microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/security/tools/tools/hfnetchk.asp
Hope that helps!

You manage to keep IIS on W2k up for a whole 5 minutes?!?! That's not a big problem- that's an accomplishment :) .

windows servers can very easily get viruses if not secured properly, as windows is a popular operating system and loads of viruses have been written for it
You should try looking for some software to secure it, but, they can be expensive, sure some people in here know some cheap solutions
People running windows 2k servers tend to be bigger companies, as software for mail, security, etc can cost over £20,000 per server.
i am not a linux person myself, but maybe it is worth a go, as you are less likly to get a virus with linux.
Security is a major problem with servers, and keeping a windows server secure can be very expensive indeed!

Try posting your problem on the ISP-Win2K discussion list at http://isp-lists.isp-planet.com/isp-win2k/. Also do a search of IIS FAQ (http://www.iisfaq.com/) and see if a solution to your problem is listed there. Good luck.

ISP-Win2K discussion list is soo dead, it's kind of strange. It used to be pretty busy, I guess no one is having problems with their Windows servers :) (and no, everyone did not move to Linux).

I must admit I haven't been there for a long time. I did used to use the Win-NT discussion list which was very busy (don't know about now) and was an extremely helpful resource.
