saw on the news last night about SW Airline now enforcing the policy for overweight people that cannot fit into one seat by making them purchase two!!!
is this really gonna solve the problem? I mean, two seats means two meals right? !!!! HELLO???? :D
P.S. please do not flame me as I am a bit of a big boy me-self.. well not that big anymore cause I can sit in one seat cause I just lost 40 lbs in the past three months.. THANKS NUTRI-SHAKE!!!! ;)
P.S.S. and no, I am not makiing fun of large people.. would not do that.. jsut bringing some humor into the ole community... and if you are considering throwing a flame, just a little FYI... I was a professional firefighter to 10 years.. HEE HEE HEE.... and as "chicken" said in a seperate post "everyone simmer down now -simmer down I say... move along, nothing to see here... nothing to see."

hmm... well to think about it.. if you can afford to buy two tickets, whyhell fly on Southwest in the first place.. did not think about that one..
in any case, now that i know about the peanut/coke thing then i would definitely foresee a snickers bar in my pocket. ya know, it really does satisfy!! :D

With the diet my wife has me on that snikers bar of yours would be a Granola bar in my pocket. And that would be the meal... :bawling:
Oh-Well I have to get this weight off somehow....

Thaat is crazy, but I somewhat agree with it, yet I don't totally agree with it.

Well, a few issues here. Planes are made a certain width. A certain number of seats across can fit within this width. Flight rates could be based on the number of paying passengers per plane and with I'll admit that the width of an individual seat is arbitrary, if someone shows up who needs to use 2 seats, there is an argument that they'd have to pay for their part, in this case it is more than if someone took up one seat's worth.
Is it a good policy? Well, most likely a PR stunt, keep in mind, however by this same principle, really tall people might have to pay extra for some things (not sure you airline tickets, but errr.. something).
I dunno... I could see some strong arguments on both sides, and basically a PR stunt/disaster for Southwest.

If I would be forced to buy two seats on one airline, personally I would just go on a different airline instead. I think the majority of bigger people would do just that. All they are doing is sending people off to their competitors IMO.
On a full flight, there is some logic in it. (But I hope if you have to buy two seats you are also allowed double carry ons and double luggage allowances etc.) On a flight with empty seats already though, it is just a way to get extra money off people.

Hey! I'll split a seat with a larger person, I don't mind! :)
I only need half a seat anyhow.
