DomiNET.net 06-21-2002, 08:39 AM eservers.biz!!!! aneales 06-21-2002, 09:03 AM No Doubt Dialtone They will call you back anywhere in the world to close a support issue skylab 06-21-2002, 10:12 AM i didn't even think the two were comparable. i mean, they're both great companies, however, i thought just in different leagues. my vote would go for dialtone. i was on a server with them for 7 months. speed, uptime, and support were outstanding. Matrix 06-21-2002, 12:04 PM Dialtone swijaya0101 06-21-2002, 12:17 PM dialtone ... they even called me early in the morning just to update me that the problem has been solved ... cabalstudios 06-21-2002, 12:27 PM Originally posted by aneales No Doubt Dialtone They will call you back anywhere in the world to close a support issue How can you justify this? I'm not backing eservers.biz alone but all companies that offer packages deals similar to us. If we were to charge you what Dialtone charge you, then I can guarantee you any company would call you back, anywhere in the world, support would be outstanding, everything would be like what you would have dreamed off, but no... Dialtone is in a totally different league to us, and companys like us, we specalise in a specific market and so do they. I totally honour Dialtone and they way they do business, but comparing them or making them better than us just because they call you anywhere in the world, is ridiculous. There are tooo many factors that seperate Dialtone to eServers. My 2 cents. Techark 06-21-2002, 12:34 PM I agree, depends what you want to pay. If you are looking to pay dailtone prices by all means go with them. If you are looking for a lower cost server you cannot get much better support and service than what the guys at eservers offer. sonic 06-21-2002, 03:03 PM dialtone is great but bandwidth charge is expensive.. my server power is Dual P3 1GHZ and they only gave me 100 GB bandwidth but I need at least 300GB . also, if you server is hosting popular sites, u can only go for dialtone. All other company's servers power are pretty weak ...... me as an example, my server load is always 2~3 with my Dual P3 1GHZ + 1G Memory . You can't imagine what things will be if those sites run in other servers. for instance ,last time I saw a shared hosting(not dedeicated) alwayshosting offering 60Gb bandwidth so I transfer "one" domain to their place to give a try and I got kicked in 2 hours. Their server load went up to 20 ........... crashed their server 20 times in 2 hours. clocker1996 06-21-2002, 03:08 PM dialtone cascompany 06-21-2002, 03:37 PM Mmm... I think they are not comparable. As cabalstudios say ... they are on two different market shares ... one the "low cost, high bandwidth market along with RS and others" ... other is the "high cost, high support market" ... where mision critical stuff run ;) Just to compare .... eservers : $129/month - 1Ghz/512Mb/60Gb (500GB/month) dialtone : $149/month - 950Mhz/512Mb/20Gb (just 30GB/month) So... How much will cost you the other "470GB of bandwidth?" ... oh men... For customers with high bandwidth sites, we offer very competitive volume rates. Depending on your pre paid bandwidth choice, managed servers can enjoy bandwidth blocks for as little as $1 per GB. Please contact us for details. So... for about $579 you get the same 500Gb as on eservers. not to forget that there are 40Gb in HD difference too.... Dialtone gives you free plesk (maybe 30 lic.) free chillisoft and great instantly support.... but you PAY the price... eeeevery month. Just my $0.02 ;) Regards. panopticon 06-21-2002, 05:05 PM also, if you server is hosting popular sites, u can only go for dialtone. You can't imagine what things will be if those sites run in other servers. Just to be accurate, you can get equally powerful or more powerful servers lots of places other than Dialtone, depending on what you want to pay. qps 06-21-2002, 05:56 PM Dialtone fractiousws 06-21-2002, 06:01 PM eServers Dot Biz. But I don't think these 2 companys are compairable. There products are in no way similar. Haze 06-21-2002, 06:51 PM eServers.biz gets my vote for sure. Been with them over a month and not one complaint. The staff are vary knowledgable and friendly and the service has been excellent. The deffinatly go above and beyond the call of duty. WildWayz 06-21-2002, 07:18 PM eServers.biz for me - by far the best dedicated server provider (closely followed by Ventures Online back in last year). James StevenG 06-21-2002, 07:35 PM Not in the same league, if you want fantastic service and support and lots of bandwidth...... you won't ever go wrong with eservers.biz - I couldn't justify having dialtone as a provider after receiving the treatment that i have had with eservers - I don't need a phone call, I usually get an email within minutes from eservers and that's good enough for me...... BurtonHost 06-21-2002, 08:24 PM I second Haze in that eServers.biz definately go beyong the call of duty - been with them for 8 months, got multiple servers and the support I get is excellent for the price :) They are good guys and I would recommend them to anyone for a great dedicated server! Drewcifer 06-21-2002, 08:27 PM As would I. They have always answered my support questions within minutes, and seen them through to completion as well. I have no complaints whatsoever. ememex 06-22-2002, 10:26 AM I've been a happy customer for over a year, and their salesperson called me many times here in Pakistan to close the sale ... I know I can save $100/month by switching to RS or some other host, but I wouldn't want to miss the 99.999999% uptime and amazing bandwidth. the server has only been down for just 4-5 hours over the whole year (when i was upgrading the kernel this year, and each time i install a php upgrade). and one 1/2 downtime when it got hacked and someone was launching DOS attacks from my machine. the dialtone guys found out, patched the server then said they would bill me $90 ... but i said it wasn't my fault, wrote a sweet email to the VP and they waived it ;) i've been considering a rackshack, nocster or eservers.biz for another server to place my big download files where quality of bandwidth isnt an issue ... will probably make a move in a month or two... go dialtone go!
