We are collecting a huge amount of web hosting market consumer behavior - I thought we'd post a few snippets here as it is quite interesting.
28% of people specify an operating system in their searches - the breakdown is :
Windows 2000/NT - 49.8%
Linux - 32.6%
Unix - 17.6%
8.8% of people specifically look for ASP hosting
3.2% of people specifically look for ColdFusion hosting
This is just a snapshot - there's a ton more data. These stats should be fairly relevant as they are based on over 19,000 searches since we launched. The really interesting thing is that we have this data tied to what people actually buy.
