Hello,

I need a small MSSQL database hosted for a billing system that I use (Platypus Billing System), and we would like to find somewhere to host it. I am looking to find a provider that can provide me with a place to host this on a fast, reliable server solution with a good uptime guarantee. I would also like it to be backed up regularly. I am looking more for someone that specializes in this, and have spent a lot of money on one of those big-clustered solutions with tons of processors and ram.

Can anyone recommend anything for this type of application?

To my understanding, I run a windows .exe script that sets up the database, and then my clients connect to the SQL database.

Thank you,
Kyle

Of course I want the solution on a RAID system as well, and hopefully it will have dual power supplies for maximum uptime.

Thank you,
Kyle

Do you have a budget, Bandwidth, and disk space requirements? Are you looking for shared or dedicated hosting?

Well I can get a win 2003 server with sql 2005 dedicated for around $200. I am looking for something like vps, that is behind a firewall, maintained, and updated with the latest patches....is there noone out there that just does database hosting?

contact valuereseller.com ... I you might find what you want there.... I assume you have the licenses for MSSQL or do you expect them from the webhosting company!!!! Value Reseller is pretty good.

Well I've got my SPLA docs in front of me, and the cheapest SQL License (OTher than the express edition) is going to be about $60-$65/month per CPU, plus the cost of the Windows license on top (I'm working in £, so that's a rough conversion). So from $200, I can't imagine that server is quality hardware, with RAID.

If you are interested in fully managed vps , dehe is the best choice. For shared or reseller hosting i will recommend hostnexus.
