View Full Version : BurstNet = DDoS Attack

Well guess what?

BurstNet is down again!

This is the 2nd Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Attack in 6 days. I am glad to say we only have two servers still on Burst and we will be moving them soon!

When they are not having DDoS attacks you may have one of their techs just upplug your server so he can re-work a rack.

I don't know what is going on at BurstNet but I don't have the customer base to find out!

Hmm I have to question you. 6 days ago I had not an ounce of downtime. So I really doubt you are telling the truth on that.

One of the Gigabit Ethernet cards on our new Cisco 12000 Series Router failed.

We replaced the card with backup hardware, and were back up and running in 20-30 minutes.

Our response time was not bad at all I must say...

Hardware failures happen :-(

The last DDoS attact was 06/13/02 at 1am EST. It lasted about 2 hours. If you down load and run ping plotter you would know when your host went down also.

Thats a pretty nasty response, where is your ping plotter running from?

I can confirm that. BurstNET gets more DOS attacks than anyone else.

Somehow I doubt that. Despite how some people on the board may feel about Burst, in the grand scheme of things hosting companies are not prime targets for DoS attacks (unless Robert Marsh is bitter about Nocster and is launching DoS attacks :D).

I would imagine government agencies, most IRC servers, and Microsoft are targetted much more often for DoS attacks, though I have no evidence to back up that claim.

I do think so, my reseller account hosted by BurstNet/NOC got a lots of troubles in last 6 months compared to other accounts with VONOC and NAC. I don't know why, does their adult business "UnRestricted.Net" cause this? If they won't improve network uptime, I will terminate this account soon. To BurstNet, the network uptime should be important than the NOCSTER production line.
