Hi,
I'm building help desk system in php+MySQL.

my 3 points that i'm trying to reach.
1. Speed
2. Easy to use
3. Customizable

Right now it has features like Perl Desk, but more advanced and faster... maybe :)

Does anybody wahts to help me to test it?
and suggest more features?

here links to staff, member, admin areas:

admin area password: "adm"

http://80.254.2.74/custom/phpdesk/admin/

staff area l: "sale@mail.zp.ua" p: "mofo"
http://80.254.2.74/custom/phpdesk/staff/ (http://80.254.2.74/custom/phpdesk/admin/staff/)

member area l: "freee@mail.zp.ua" p: "free"

http://80.254.2.74/custom/phpdesk/

My script can do all support work directly by e-mails. I'll post tommrow in this thread information about e-mails to use for direct e-mail testings.

What price should have such script? Please don't tell that i should give it for free....

P.S.: I'll make 50% off to everyone who will help me to test it and will suggest new feature, or will help me to write manual and quick help for the script, or if you'll help me a lot i'll give it to you for FREE.

No offense, but this script looks exactly like perldesk even with the same layout and some of the tables, images, etc.. My suggestion would be to make something of your own with your own layout.

I'm not designer. Layout will be more diffrent than perl desk. Just right now that a draft version and it looks like perl desk. I'm not going to sell just rebulid from perl to php script. I used thats design only. Engine is mine. So only design is like perl desk.

Hmm... So you can't pipe email to this???? Because I only see the option to use POP3 checking...

Staff edit is broke it seems....

Also in the staff area:
http://80.254.2.74/custom/phpdesk/staff/staff.php

Maybe have a check box next to each ticket, so you can select multiple tickets, and have a pull down at the bottom to select to delete the selected tickets or close them..

And maybe also have a link in the staff area to submit a ticket of their own....

Maybe have a private messaging feature, so a registered user can leave a message for a certain support person, or a support person can leave a message for a certain user, or support to support.. you get my idea :D

I used Pop3 checking optin so you can use any pop3 mail server not only that on your server.
Thanks for suggestion about private messages. I'm adding this feature. And for pulldown too.

The cost will be $69 or $55.

Is that ok price?

Is Perl desk free?

I thought it was free. What do I get for my $55 or $69 that I don't get with Perl desk and is worth me paying the money for?

Yes, perl desk is free
With this script you'll get free fast support, install and etc.
and new updates. Plus mine uses less cpu than perl desk. My script is not a copy of Perl Desk. It just had the same desgn. Now i'm changing it.

BTW: Last I checked, if you want support for PerlDesk, you have to pay :D

I thought that was a crappy thing for him to do, but guess ya gotta make money some how...

I'm adding private message feature in script. And trying to optimize work with MySQL as more as i can. I think that good HelpDesk system should use MySQL rationally.... So there will be no troubles with huge amount of tickets. I think that my HelpDesk will be able to handle like 100 000 tickets or more. I don't count notes. I'll make tests and post here results.

Also.. another feature request...

Have the ability to receive attachments... So if a person sends an attachment with an email, that its stored on the server and a link provided like vB does uploads....

And possibly have an attach feature for making a reply to a ticket and the file be uploaded and stored on the server so other techs can see the file, and the file be sent as an attchment to the ticket creator..

Hope I'm clear on this...

If you add all those features, I might just buy the script...

I don't usually buy stuff, esp when there are open source alternatives...
