Does anyone know whether enom has any promotions regarding become a direct ETP? For example, is there or has there been a promotion whereby the fee/required deposit to become an ETP has been reduced?

I am not aware of any.

Why are you asking anyway? If I'll tell you that eNom *had* a 'special' 3 years ago, what difference that will make for you?

There are no promotions for becoming an ETP because any promo would devalue the worth of all existing ETP's and I doubt if eNom would want to upset all it's resellers.

I understand, a year and a bit ago, the fees to become a ETP were not as high.

I'm looking to become an ETP as opposed to having a sub account was just wondering if there was some promotion that i was not aware of.

Thanks for your input though.

I think the best deal right now is the 'pre-funding' option. You'll probably use the funds eventually anyway, and interest rates are pretty low anyway, right?

I actually found it good that Enom is doing it that way. If you are after "cheap" Domain registrations, there are others out there with no "setup fee". However, if you are serious then you should go for Enom.

Thats my 0.02$.

I know many that use directi etc. which doesnt have this "unpleasant" obstacle.

I would not recommend enom, they are playging games with their resellers.

As follow-up questions to the OP's post....

Does eNom still allow $6.95 reseller accounts? If not, how much is the minimum reseller pricing now?

Is it still worth investing $7000 to become an ETP in terms of dollar-to-dollar ROI considering that there are now too many competitions and the overhead cost involved (hosting your site, advertisement, transaction fees, tax, etc)?

For those who have signed up as an ETP, how long did it take you to recover your initial investment?

Did you have to compliment domain registration with other services or focusing on it was a better experience for you?

Unless you are going to sell tons of names just get an existing 6.95 account

If I buy an enom 6.95 account for $200/$250 and able to sell some nice numbers in a year..can I become an ETP and shift all the domains from my previous sub-reseller account to my ETP account...?
Also..does it costs. extra?

You should contact eNom before you purchase the new account, and ask them what are your options.

They used to allow you to "upgrade" to ETP status by depositing the difference between the number of domains in your account and the $6950 "cost". However, I'm not sure they do that any more...

I spent my entire $7000 in about 3 months. Mostly at Club Drop. I had to send them more money to actually continue transferring my domains there :(

They don't operate this points system anymore. You've gotta deposit the money.

I don't think this is a good business policy that few have 6.95 accounts who are selling them for cheap and the newbies who want to start need to invest that such a huge amount of money..to ge started..

Domain registration is a commodity business, and like all commodoity businesses, it's a numbers game. If you have the volumes, you get the best discounts. It's just one of those facts of life.
