I've been noticing there's been a lot of questions about billing software.

It might interest some of you that we've released our own billing tool under an Open Source license.

We've also got a support system available called ticketsmith which is pretty mature at this point.

It's designed for web hosts, works pretty well, is under active development and is free.

Looks promising, what gateways does it work with or do you have to do all that manually?

right now there is no gateway.

it points clients to an external page for cc info which works fine for us right now (although it does mean manually having to post payments which wastes about an hour a day).

integration with authorize.net is planned for the next version. shouldn't be more than a couple of weeks before that's done.
