comments?

Umm, one of the greatest games ever made springs to mind :) Got 'Jedi Knight II' today though so that might be changing (hey, I'm almost finished GTA3)

Now all I need to do is find some time to actually play the darn thing

Jedi Knight II here (http://www.lucasarts.com/products/outcast/html/default.htm)

Hmm, what missions in GTA are you caught on? If it's one without a time limit you can always try this. Type:

givemeatank

on your keyboard while you're facing a road. ;)

I'm personally caught on the 'destroy the spank selling coffee stands' near the end of the game myself.

I bought GTAIII out of pure curiousity. Damn thing works on my laptop but not on my main desktop. I'll troubleshoot it eventually though when I get the time. :)

I have GTA3 on PS2 only. Ill get it for the PC, too, if it compares favorably to the PS2 version. My wife won't be very happy :)

Does anyone have both versions of the game? If so, is it as good, better, etc.....

Thanks!

Yup. It's exactly the same game as it's a port from the PS2 version. The only real difference is the higher quality graphics of the PC. You will need a fairly high end system to take advantage of all the bells and whistles though. A gamepad is almost necessary (I use a Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Analogue which is comparable to the playstation controller)

On some systems it falls down badly though for most things there are tips and tricks to get it running right. As I said, it's a port, not written from the ground up for PC). http://www.gta3forums.com is a good place to start as is Take 2 Interactive's website.

The serious advantage of the PC version is the ability to aim via mouse (sniper rifles etc). If you've tried to shoot the Cartel guys on the boat while 8-ball tries to set the bomb you know what I mean when I say aiming with the controller is just nasty.

In all, the PC version is a little buggy, but the look of it is great, and retains all the great gameplay of the PS2 version.

I have it on the PS2. Is there any better way to relieve anger and stress than slaughtering 25 people in the middle of town?

No.

At least, in-game. The treats would never hurt anything above the level of a fly.

I have it on PS2. Solved the entire game -- it's a load of fun. Make sure you watch the entire end scene, there's a little extra bit to enjoy when the end credits are rolling.

BTW, here's a hint to get extra health (above 100%): pull up near a hooker and honk the horn. She'll come over and talk to you through the window, then get in your vehicle. Drive to an off-the-road area (like among some trees along the waterfront). Wait and see what happens -- and watch your health go up!

I was depressed when I first played GTA3. They took the gameplay of Grand Theft Auto (which I played for hours at a time 6 years ago) and slapped on a pretty interface without changing much. Just about everything is *exactly* the same as it was in the first one.

I've completed it, well my little brother did anyway.HA!

Its one hell of an amazing game.

I think the improves of GTA 4 would have to have motorbikes!!! :stickout

NNHost

I Think Motorbikes would be wicked!, also being able to go in shops, and get in the back of vechiles, and being driven around by taxi drivers, and instead of it saying busted when you get nicked, you should be able to break through when there restraing you, or is this going to far hehe, one hell of a game!

Get all 200 hidden packages.
Supposedly It unlocks the 4th Island.
I've got 199 and the book that shows where they all are, only problem weve gone to all 200 and still only have 199, must keep missing one, so we keep going through the whole list until finding it, will post when we do

Rockstar Games says there is no "fourth island". Also, GTA4 is reportedly to be set in Miami. Even though I solved it, I enjoy fooling around with the non-mission parts of the game: like trying to fly the Dodos, doing ramp jumps for bonus money, intentional violent crashes, using the weapons cheat and playing sniper from the top covered floor of a parking garage (shooting those poor, unsuspecting citizens and taking out helicopters with the rocket launcher), or ramp-jumping over the gate and into the stadium, etc.

i think it would be great if we can talk to people
while playing
or go up to those prostitutes
talk to them
say something to them
or maybe type to them HAHA
Either way
Just being able to go in some houses, stores would be awesome

If you honk your car's horn in front of a prostitute then drive into a quiet alley once they get into your car you get an interesting new part of the game. :D

played for couple of days... was addicted to it during those days, but as always with any other game - I got bored of it and stopped playing. I actually get bored with new games quite easily  it's amazing...

the only game I was addicted to for a long time was Rogue Spear (for 2 years) :D

GTA3 is a great game tho, a lot more fun then previous GTA versions
