I have installed Linux 7.2 on my Laptop Sony VAIO for learning purposes, but everytime I attempt to boot, the Laptop crashes, after the following message.

"Code: Bad EIP value.
> Kernel Panic, Aiee, Killing interrupt handler
In interrupt handler - not syncing."

Please, if you know something, tell me, as this drives me crazy. I have never managed to boot and See Linux.

I had a whole book to go through and Learn Linux. I have no time for hip cups.

Thanks in advance, if you understand what I mean.

It would help if you posted the exact model of your laptop so you can search for issues specific to your laptop.

You posted a pretty generic kernel error message. There is not enough information in your post for anyone to help you.

Thanks Toasty

My Laptop is the Sony VAIO PCG-FX201.

This is the last message that I get before crash.

What other information do you need? How can I get the information since I can't get into the Linux stuf???

Thanks.

I am here every minute waiting for your reply!!

You should really learn how to use a search engine. That is the best way to learn and figure out problems. I plopped "Sony VAIO laptop redhat linux 7.2" into Google Groups and this was the ninth result:

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&threadm=cf1fa757.0111071231.7bbc1f90%40posting.google.com&rnum=9&prev=/groups%3Fhl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF8%26oe%3DUTF8%26q%3DSony%2BVAIO%2Blaptop%2Bredhat%2Blinux%2B7.2

See if that helps.
