Stan Marsh 11-01-2006, 02:42 AM what could make people go for Melbournу IT? Top notch support? It's MelbournE IT. ;) I don't think they have 'top notch' (if any at all) support. I remember dealing with them as one big nightmare. Sure, somebody else could have different experiences... lynette11 11-03-2006, 12:55 AM Netregistry and particulary MelbourneIt are too expensive. MelbourneIt used literally own the market in Australia until the TLD's were opened up to market forces. The prices dropped from $000's to under $40 today. I tell all my clients to keep away from the above two. Netregistry's extras are a ripp-off. Stan Marsh 11-04-2006, 11:13 AM Melb....IT also allowed the registration of a .com.au domain matching one of my clients TRADEMARKS in australia by a company not entitled to said domain name !!!!! Trust me, registrar could care less about the trademarks. They will suspend domain only if the court order is received to this effect. crdr 11-04-2006, 08:30 PM Hi Stan Trust me, registrar could care less about the trademarks. They will suspend domain only if the court order is received to this effect. I was always under the impression that .com.au couldnt be awarded unless buyer proved he had ownership rights to that name (be it business name, trading name, patents or trademarks). As far as I am aware, the 'current owners' dont. Anyway, my clients Patent Attorney is seeking a court injunction - an expensive process from what I am hearing. ouch. ;) |
