Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a dedicated hosting place that ran sometihng other then redhat linux. Something likw mandrake or suse. I've had better experince on these then with red hat. As for colo do they let you run your own verison of say linux cause if i was to colo a machien i would proablly want to runing linux mandrake 7.2 instead of redhat 6.2 and would techsupport well support it?

Some hosting providers, can support you and some can't depends upon their staff. Just call a few providers and ask them, I am sure it couldn't hurt to ask. As far as colo, it is your machine, you run what you want to run.

Red Hat has about 70% of the Linux market and chances are high that will be the OS you'll find on most. However, with searching, you may find hosts among that remaining 30% that use it.

As said already, on colocated servers, you can use whatever programs you like.
