I'm trying to find somewhere to host my site.
It's rather large, approximately 1.2 gigabytes, but does not contain pr0n or warez of any sort. At the moment I need approximately 40 gigabytes of traffic pr. month, but this is due to increase in the near future.
Up until recently I was hosted at at American provider, but apparantly
they were not able to live up to their promises og up tp 60 gigabyts of allowed transfers pr. month.

So, the question is, do you know any companies able to provide the above mentioned services, at a reasonable charge. I need mysql and php-support, but no other fancy features (except ssh-access). Also, at this point I
have no particular interest in a dedicated server, as it would simply be major overkill, cpu and diskwise.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Also I hope that this is the correct group, otherwise please let me know.

Thanks.

You probably need a dedicated server. Take a look at http://www.tera-byte.com

They have some real nice packages that you can choose from.

We need somehow to get started.
At the moment we simply cannot afford the setup-fee of a dedicated server, even though the monthly payments seem affordable.
The perfect solution would be to temporarily buy 2 or 3 fairly cheap accounts, and after a while upgrading to a dedicated server. Any hints as to where this may be possible would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I think http://valueweb.com has some big transfer plans might check them out.

I don't know what you consider "reasonable," but if you stuck together four of Interland's (www.interland.com) "Feature Plus" plans you would have 1.2 GB of disk space and 80 gigs of transfer for about $200 month.

I think it would be a trick to balance the load between the accounts.

As it appears, some providers offer dedicated servers as low as 100 us $ a month, including 100 GB's of transfer.
Of course this includes no features and a crappy little cobalt-box, but thats excactly what I'm looking for.

I'm wondering if anybody is able to provide a similarly convincing solution at an even better price.

I realise of course that I get what I pay for, but, as stated above, I merely need to get started.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

boll, you might want to enable e-mail in your profile so hosts on this board that can help you will be able to e-mail you.

If you were talking about the RaQ3 from 4webspace.com then "I get what I pay for" does not apply. You get more then what you pay for.

ok, I believe I enabled viewing of my email-adress.
And about the 4webspace.com, indeed that is what I am referring to.
I currently have a pending ticket at their sales department, as I need to know if there is really no setup-fee involved.

If that is the case, it sounds almost too good to be true.

Do anyone have first-hand expirience with 4webspace.com?

You'll find plenty of satisfied 4WebSpace customers (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php?query=4webspace&forumchoice=-1&booleanand=yes&searchin=all&searchdate=-1&searchuser=&searchdateline=&exactname=yes&action=dosearch&getdaily=&pagenum=) around this forum - so much so we've had to setup a dedicated RaQ forum for all their questions.

if it's not a download type site I would personally be interested in seeing what happens if you sign up for the unlimited package of wantsomegetsome.net, i.e. if they accept your site to stay or if they find an excuse why your site would not be acceptable or something

Boll, I know there isn't a set up fee and there's also a chat at the 4webspace site if you need to ask them some questions (FYI).
