View Full Version : Becoming a WHT MOD
NNHost 06-18-2002, 09:35 AM Well.. Not for me, but for others who maybe intrested in this post, how would someone go about becoming a WHT MOD? i suppose, if you put a signup form on the site, everyone would be a MOD, but how do we go about qualifying for a MOD? - also, do you get paid for spending like 10hours a day here keeping an eye on everyone and everypost ? or are the WHT Admins / Mods doing it out of there own free will
thanks...
From what I hear, you don't contact them.. they contact you. I believe there is also an initial set of tests ( of course this is a big secret ) which include: running around naked in the middle of a crowded city with webhostingtalk.com tatoed to your back... I can't coment any further. A dude in a black suit, with a big gun just showed up at the door.
:uzi: :bomb: :angel:

Of course, there's new ownership now... but no new statement on the topic has been made.
tagalaxy.net 06-18-2002, 10:30 AM generally people who ask to be mods wouldnt make good ones...
you shouldnt seek power, etc etc
and AFAIK, its not a paid position ;)

Fair enough, but i'm not asking to be a MOD, it's just a question.

I was informed that you ARE allowed to wear feathers :P :D :rolleyes:
Angel78 06-19-2002, 12:59 PM If you want to become a mod :
you have to have 75% of chicken post count and 50% of them should be as long as an average post by Tim_Greer
mission impossible :)

Chicken 06-19-2002, 02:04 PM Most forums work this way... when a mod is needed, current mods nominate a few people that stuck out as being helpful and controlled on the forum, and who have been around long enough to know their way around. At all the forums I've been at, it has never been limited to how many posts a member has (since some people just post a whole bunch about not much).

Are you talking about people with more than 9000 posts?
:D
tagalaxy.net 06-19-2002, 06:46 PM Ouch!

Then I have no chance in hell to become a mod. LOL :stickout
When I recently became a bit loud about hostgui - the non-existent control panel, not only the thread was locked out, my private email address was given away to Tim Greer [ex-hostgui] and Jag [hostgui founder] on their request by one of the mods without a second thought. So much for privacy! :eek:
Chicken 06-19-2002, 07:31 PM Yes mistral1, that issue was discussed already, but thank you for airing it again, and no you wouldn't be chosen as a moderator.

Huh? I never contacted any of the moderators here about you, nor did I contact them about your harrassing PM's to me that you sent to myself and Greg out of the blue.
Further, why don't you end this nonsense about defaming a people, a company and a product you have no involvement or knowledge of and just feel you can make such claims about anyway -- simply because you have some 'issues'.
Be fair, be civil, be truthful and be polite and stop trying to cause trouble and start fights on a forum. I think that was all discussed to death. Leave people alone already. I don't know or care what your problem is, but this type of comment continues to be unappreciated and disrepesectful to the WHT members.
I never asked for, nor was I ever given your address. At least this time the moderators of this forum can back the fact that this is just another lie of yours to try and make the people and proiduct you mention look bad. Why would I want your email? After all, you threatened me, I gave you my number if you want to call bad enough -- I don't need to, nor do I desire to try and contact you.

This is your brain.... :spam:
This is your brain when you bitch and wine about crap... :flamethr: :spam:
I didn't want to use eggs, because Chicken might think I'm cooking his family :D
NNHost 06-20-2002, 02:25 AM mistral1, do they not have a privacy policy??
alpha 06-20-2002, 02:25 AM LOL it's so funny ... he always seem to 'pop' out of nowhere and start a storm full of flames, misrepresentation of facts, presumed facts, and even plain lies...
now... on top of that, you're accusing the mods of doing something that is considered to be controversial on the net... woohoo, bravo! an e-soap opera! :D
*p.s. - I was not talking about NNHost...
<ahem>
<glare>
Thread closed for a very obvious reason. The original poster got his answer...
