How would you rate Plesk feature wise for an administrator and end user? I was told by the people at Plesk that they hope to support Solaris 8 by mid March and that new under 1k Sun server is looking good ;)

They are expanding at a very rapid rate. Just hope their next version supports error documents. webfors 02-06-2001, 03:48 PM Very easy to install, seems very stable, excellent price, but lacks some features in my opinion (that's what happens when you get spoiled with cpanel) :D Rehan 02-06-2001, 04:59 PM Plesk is visually appealing, but it's limited in functionality. I've used custom control panels (WebAxxs and phpwebhosting.com) that had more functionality and were more useful because of that. The DNS administration in Plesk is very good, though. As an admin, I don't like the way Plesk creates and manages accounts. I prefer something like Webmin which seems to works with the standard infrastructure (configuration files, user folders, etc.). Fiber 02-07-2001, 02:26 AM It looks nice, and the functionality is nice.... But it cost's too much. cbaker17 02-07-2001, 11:34 AM Youve so lost me, plesk is the most affordable control panel on the market webfors 02-07-2001, 11:57 AM Originally posted by cbaker17 Youve so lost me, plesk is the most affordable control panel on the market Charles is right. There is no other control panel as affordable as Plesk. PLUS, once you buy it, it's yours. No licensing fees, etc... mrkanitkar 02-08-2001, 04:48 AM Yes, I have purchased Plesk two weeks back. It is really nice & cost effective in case of c-panel & others u have to pay monthly. Here no extra cost. But they have to support java, jsp, java savelts, miva & other softwares. Secondly I have one question aslo, In plesk E mail forwarder If we create one email account which is .forward account, can we forward the mail to more than one account. ?? sebados 02-08-2001, 06:29 PM Originally posted by a.chaplin Calm down everybody ! These postings are getting too hot! If you want a control panel and more with excellent advice and support then Sphera is your answer! If you are serious about growth then these guys are your answer. I have just returned from ISPcon Europe 2001 in the UK and was first of all attracted by their stand, it was probably the best looking and approachable stand i have seen at the many exhibitions i have attended. Their advice was great and they gave me a comprehensive insight into their solution. Its much more than a control panel allowing you to manage your entire network infrastructure with the ability to offer real value to your end users. If you want to grow then you have got to get away from scripting and basic control panel features and Sphera is your answer! Guy's, just surf the web for hosting providers and you will see we all look the same, there is no real differentiation between the services everyone offers. Incorporate Sphera and you will give yourself a real edge at realistic price !.....Simple hmmm... the same post here: http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=5446 and here: http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=4281 :) [Edited by sebados on 02-08-2001 at 05:32 PM] cbaker17 02-08-2001, 07:19 PM The fact that hes advertising sphera in all control panel spreads, and is not helping at all with the questions asked at hand, makes me never ever want to use sphera. Why dont you quit spamming and post something useful... |
