ThePlayer1960 10-23-2006, 05:41 AM its that about 2 hours ago i was trying to access the site and it wouldn't load or anything -
anon-e-mouse 10-23-2006, 05:46 AM I have been actively working here for the last 4 hours and seen nothing untoward :) maybe your ISP was taking a rest :P
ThePlayer1960 10-23-2006, 06:19 AM Its possable - i'm on 10meg borad band I don't think it is becasue all the sites load very fast - eg ebay loads very fast but when I type in www.webhostingtalk.com (http://www.webhostingtalk.com) it gose really slow -

I agree with you buddy WHT is dam slow when compare with high loaded forum like
freewebspace.net
freewebspace.net static(Threads: 98,601, Posts: 757,913, Members: 62,373,Date:23/10/06)
you can find difference when you browse both the forum via mobile with image off
CaroNet-Hesham 10-23-2006, 06:53 AM Player,
Maybe if you post a traceout here we can see if there are any slowdowns in one of the hops
ThePlayer1960 10-23-2006, 07:18 AM Ok I will do it when I get home I am currently at my cusens I will post it now from here then once i get home I will post it from there
This is what I get when I do it here
http://dnsstuff.com/tools/tracert.ch?ip=webhostingtalk.com
I'm getting timed out
112222.0 ms 209.162.180.254 [Timeout] 64US[Router did not respond]
Thats what I'm getting when I do a traceout
mustaq 10-23-2006, 07:55 AM ahh i forgot to mention when i browse more than 5 or 6 pages i get memory full (nokia 7610) with image off
mustaq 10-23-2006, 08:03 AM yaa even i don't since most of them here have high access for the internet so there don't face problem including me
jerett 10-23-2006, 01:38 PM The only slow part I have had on WHT is coming up with ways to be a post whore - and well - here is one more. ;) Kidding of course. The site seems to be moving along okay on my end. Houston, Texas
Koopa 10-23-2006, 04:15 PM It's quick enough for me?
Tdothost1 10-23-2006, 04:58 PM Site Loads fine for me
No problems at all from here.
W4 Hosting 10-23-2006, 07:02 PM It working nice, even search working FAST..
ThePlayer1960 10-24-2006, 07:59 AM Hmm - its not working fine for me (yesterday) althought it is working very fast now :D
PixelManual 10-24-2006, 08:03 PM ThePlayer, WHT goes through many ups and downs throughout the world and I also noticed a significant slow down the previous 2 days... working perfectly now, of course.
It's mainly due to the fact that, sorry mods, iNet is extremely cheap and doesn't have enough servers to run these boards or has it poorly setup. As there are dozens of forums of comparable size that display their server specs and run much faster than WHT at any given time.

I'm sure there's a technical explanation for why it runs slow, rather than just hardware. What you're saying may hold to be true but it's more speculation so we cannot nobody can say for sure.

Good point -- it is speculation; however, many other larger boards have no problem giving out their server specifications and amounts. All iNet does is beat around the bush and say there is an advanced cluster setup for the forums. Fantastic -- in other words, we know nothing.
ThePlayer1960 10-26-2006, 04:55 PM I found out why - I should really move my ISP
