I've been thinking about getting a server at ServerBeach (I don't know why, but it REALLY grates me having to pay an extra $99 to setup at RackShack!), so I've been trying to monitor their site every once in a while to make sure uptime is good.

Well, their site is now down. Funny thing is, though, I can ping it, which means it's probably just their web server. Is the site down for anyone else? Does anyone else that has a server with them experiencing downtime as well?

btw, I've been lurking these forums a bit...this is my first thread I've created :D

It could have been down for a short period of time or something.

Yea, it's back up for me now. Hmm, well, I guess whatever it was they fixed it.

It was down for a little while while they upgraded some power supplies at one of their data centres,

they gave us (their customers) several days notice of this planned outage.

How's the connection so far with them? I'm still shopping around, evaluating different options. I'm pretty good with servers, and don't often need customer support. What I really need is a good connection, fast and stable with no packet loss.

Yes, it was a pre-planned and scheduled outage. It seems that all of our customers were very understanding.

With this upgrade, our future service windows should be less dramatic.
