I have been trying to get a good domain name, all the ones i want are taken. does any one know where i could get lists of droped or expired domain names.

Taken domain does not mean it's unavailable for purchase. Contact it's current owner and *perhaps* domain of your dreams will be yours... :)

To answer your question - every dropcatcher has a 'search' feature for domains which are soon to drop. It's free at Enom; I am not sure about others.

You might try DeletedDomains.com, or search google for "deleted domains".
