Someone interested in knowing whether a Cpanel server can handle 10,000 domains on it.?
"Each site will have 30 mb space and .5 gig bw
Specs:
CPU: dual P3 1gz
RAM: 3 Gig
Will Apache/Ftp/Email all work properly under such a heavy load?"
Taking your thoughts on these...

Your biggest problem, in my opinion personally is going to be the kernel limitations on file headers, process limitations, ECT.

Agreed. CPanel can handle those numbers just fine, but I think you'll find other limitations that may get in your way.

I don't think P3 1 Ghz box will be able to handle 10k domains on cpanel or any other control panle except majority of web site have under construction page only. ;)

He intends to sell from one server the following:
10,000 accounts
@ 30 MB Space = 300 GB Space
@ .5 GB Transfer = 5,000 GB Transfer
Back to the question though, theoretically will work assuming 10% actual usage of resource, practically will not. I don't know where the cutoff will be not knowing the nature of the accounts. But, it will be before it reaches 10,000.
Hate to imagine the sizes of the logs :D

this is what exactly I was thinking about. it becomes very hard to debug log file of 250-300 account server, how much time consuming job it will be to debug log files of 10k accounts server. And imaging somebody spamming on server and you have to track him down
