WireNine 10-14-2006, 05:13 PM What do you think of the X3 CPanel skin?
http://cpx3demo.com:2082/login/?user=x3democ&pass=x3democ
This is going to be the latest default cpanel skin once CPanel 11 becomes stable. Share your feedback and suggestions on the new skin, what do you like or dislike?
xpguy 10-14-2006, 07:15 PM I think its a improvement to x2 :D looks pretty cool although the green small circle icons on the left menu look a bit jagged.
Chachi 10-14-2006, 07:27 PM Those are not circles, it's the infinity symbol :)
AvailNetworks 10-14-2006, 09:41 PM I think it looks pretty organized and clean. The current skin to me is functional but quite dated. definately a fresh new look
the inifiniti icons do look pretty jagged and could use a bit of love
sgarbus 10-14-2006, 11:36 PM I think cPanel should start over, because that's just looking nasty.
I'll stick with my Plesk skins.
mrzippy 10-15-2006, 07:19 PM It's better then their old x2 skin.
(But we use rvskin, so it doesn't matter.)
yeah that it is, it is better then the x2
RW-Steven 10-15-2006, 09:02 PM I was actually starting to like it until i had a proper look and clicked on MySQL Databases:
http://cpx3demo.com:2082/frontend/x3/sql/index.html
Talk about making things harder, what was wrong with the single page for MySQL?
Not sure if any other pages have been changed like that.
[edit] finally, the 200 post mark :D
jerett 10-25-2006, 10:56 AM It's better then their old x2 skin.
(But we use rvskin, so it doesn't matter.)
And RvSkin is a better design?
cyberturk 10-25-2006, 11:28 AM And RvSkin is a better design?
yes i think rvskin is better but this one is better than cpanel 10 i think

I think it's better myself, especially for lots of databases.
jerett 10-25-2006, 11:52 AM Rvskin in my opinion looks like early 90' graphics. the icons are pretty ugly. I think Rvskin could easily amp up their skin in little time and quickly become a great looking skin that reflects on more professional appearance instead of something that tends to appear at first glance - outdated.
gasxtreme 10-25-2006, 01:02 PM Pretty nice skin, it definately has some great features..... I'm not quite sure I dig the leaves header graphic, but I'm sure that can be changed... Other than that, it has some great functional value.... I love how you can collapse the sections, since 75% of the functions in cPanel I don't use on a regular basis, so now I can simply hide them. Also, the menus are draggable.... That is a great idea! You can put the sections that you use more often towards the top....
Definitely has some great potential :)

jerett 10-25-2006, 01:07 PM LOL - the leaves is something somone just added. They must of changed the theme or something. HA! It is ugly looking with the leaves.
sgarbus 10-25-2006, 03:20 PM They really need to stop trying to use the infinity sign, as it makes the skin look even worse than it is.
I can't believe they're actually paying people to do this...
WireNine 10-25-2006, 03:44 PM Let's hope it looks better before it is released publicly.
Renard Fin 10-26-2006, 01:51 AM It is surely clean.
But compared to other CP skins ... well ... basic eh :D
Website Rob 10-26-2006, 03:09 AM Hopefully, the slowness of page loading is due to their Server and not the theme.
What I like is the look is a tad better than the current 'X' theme and top marks for providing the ability to move Catagory Tables around and drop-menu setup for Stats.
On the 'bad' side, they still haven't figured out how to stop double listing of Installed Perl Modules.
Ben_G 10-26-2006, 03:06 PM It's definitely an improvement to the X skin and looking forward to using it but over the years the "X" theme has become so standard any new default skin is going to be an adjustment.
jerett 10-26-2006, 03:25 PM From the looks of X3 - I dont think you will have to adjust too much. it basically the same with some nice added collapse and new icons.
nickn 10-26-2006, 05:03 PM Personally, I've seen all the work put into this and I think it's a great improvement. Not so cool with the infinity sign..but other than that, it's definitely looking good..good things to come.
jerett 10-26-2006, 05:32 PM Why doesn't that demo link work anymore?
sgarbus 10-26-2006, 05:43 PM Why doesn't that demo link work anymore?Perhaps they can't handle the constructive criticism.
carlgm 10-26-2006, 05:45 PM Works fine for me.
sgarbus 10-26-2006, 05:47 PM Works fine for me.They password protected the directory for a moment, it's all fine now.
CaroNet-Hesham 10-26-2006, 11:25 PM It's ok, but not groundbreaking. The process of having an MySQL database seems to have gotten a bit complicated though
MACscr 11-21-2006, 07:33 PM i know this is an old topic, but this is pathetic is if this is supposed to be the "next generation" theme for cpanel
carlgm 11-21-2006, 08:15 PM i know this is an old topic, but this is pathetic is if this is supposed to be the "next generation" theme for cpanel
Glad you've done your research. It's not.
AH-Tina 11-21-2006, 08:30 PM I don't like it. It has that Kindergarden-ish 'oooh we're having fun!' WindowsXP theme look to it.

CX.Eric 11-21-2006, 09:43 PM Haha i agree with Tina, its not serious and professional at all..
VertexBilly 11-21-2006, 09:55 PM It doesn't impress me, but I don't hate it either.
carlgm 11-21-2006, 10:16 PM It's an improvement on x/x2 that's all. RVskin is still a lot better though. :)
SwiftModders 11-21-2006, 11:20 PM Hmm, sometimes I wish cPanel would let me redesign their next Control Panel skin. Hehe.
speckl 11-21-2006, 11:30 PM Just another subpar cPanel theme. Instead of the icons all being in one table, their separated by useless images and even more tables.
carlgm 11-21-2006, 11:36 PM It's all arranged into tables which can be moved/removed. That's the idea behind it from what I can tell. I quite like the images, but might be worth offering an option to disable said images although I suspect that would make it worst. :)
utropicmedia-karl 11-22-2006, 10:11 AM The skin is great.
If they could integrate the Relay file manager, or at least make it easier to integrate 3rd-party apps, they would have a killer combination.
We would also love to integrate our stream control panel, but alas, the cPanel documentation and module system leaves _much_ to be desired.
DSD-Dan 11-23-2006, 06:58 PM It's better than x2, but i think they are starting to slowly copy plesks layout
MACscr 11-25-2006, 05:55 AM its fn horrible, might as well have snow falling in the background. Thats how tacky and outdated the design is.
MeddlePAL 11-26-2006, 05:30 PM It's pretty bad. I dunno why they can't get a decent design.
