View Full Version : Hosting Controller 7 new version
bigdeal 10-14-2006, 09:25 AM Hosting Controller has released the beta of its new version HC 7 http://hostingcontroller.com. (http://hostingcontroller.com)
Both Windows and Linux machines can be added in the cluster. IIS and Apache webservers are supported.
Has any one tested it yet.
HackNo-Alex 10-14-2006, 10:18 AM No I have not, but it looks pretty nice.
mooodi 10-14-2006, 10:39 AM Oh really ....:gthumb: At last we have received exciting news....
Couple of months ago Hosting Controller Support department told me that they are going to integrate some awesome features in HC7..... Now its time to explore it
I will definitely play with it :agree:
submenu 10-14-2006, 12:54 PM Could they possibly copy plesk any further?
Terry Shaw 10-14-2006, 01:09 PM I have visited online demo of Hosting Controller7 beta and found quite impressive :agree:
GMoore7 10-14-2006, 10:58 PM The "Let's make everything look like Windows XP!" thing gets kind of old.. Plesk already does it, and this seems like an exact replica of plesk, no innovation in design at all.
The skins are nice, but nothing truly unique. The tabs once is a nice one though.

eming 10-15-2006, 04:32 PM has anyone actually tested it yet?
eming 10-15-2006, 04:41 PM i mean, being a copy of plesk/PEM is a good thing in my ears...knowing how PEM prices are put together and how hostingcontroller set their prices...
oakleeman 10-15-2006, 06:18 PM Looks like it still has problems being used on Firefox.
Saksher 10-16-2006, 12:57 PM Its been said earlier in some thread that Hosting Controller has copied Plesk skin (XP style).... which is ridiculous to claim/declare. Both companies have developed the application for windows environment to give users a XP-style look n feel, and neither there is any copyright of that skin... infact you'll now find that XP skin available for FREE on many websites ;)
Having said that Hosting Controller has release few more skins, which in fact I personally like more than the XP-series - my personal favorite VogueTree.
I have been testing its beta from the last 2-3 weeks and found it much faster, it certainly have more features & integrations and it is more user-friendly and stable than the existing one.
Blessed.
abdik 10-18-2006, 11:27 AM I have downloaded it and installed it on my new Windows 2003 server and it seems pretty cool. I would though be adding more machines to the windows cluster and see how it mangages all the machines.
Hope all goes well.
baloo 01-06-2007, 12:06 PM Be careful of HC7. It's up to revision 4 already and it's still quite buggy, at least upgrading from HC6 is. I haven't tried a clean install yet.
Saksher 01-06-2007, 02:07 PM I have already upgraded one of my server to HC7 last month without any major issue... The new version has much improved interface, stability, cross server communications (now my uk2 server can communicate with server in thePlanet), and have more features than the previous one... http://hostingcontroller.com/english/products/Hc7/hosting-panel-comparison.html .
By the way, are you sure you're trying to upgrade from HC6 not from their 4 year old version HC2000 ;).
Blessed.
KNL-BSW 01-06-2007, 04:02 PM Welp, that didn't impress me. Thought I would see what all the similarities were. I logged in and the interface template wasn't set to an XP one.
So, I changed it and got caught in an endless loop (Firefox).
Saksher 01-06-2007, 06:17 PM Yes, HC doesn't support firefox...
They only support internet explorer at the moment, its a pity that such a fine web application doesn't run fully with firefox. But having said that as I offer mostly windows solutions to my customers so don't have any complains from them as such.
Blessed.
