Yes i find it annoying and want them removed. Emailed enom today.

here is enoms reply:

"This was a newly added item to the whois results. As this was a managerial decision, there is no way that a domain or account can opt out of the display."

So it looks like unless more people complain the link to the about us site., it's there to stay.

I've gotten word back on this. There was something new put in place on 9.4.2006 . Exactly why etc I do not know. But I did check further and there is no way to have your domains exclude this at the top. So I'm sorry if it's frustrating to have the extra data appear but it's outside of the control of anyone in support or development to remove - as you say, managerial decisions.

Things start to get clowdy on enom, time to move, i see this as a lack or respect to their customers

if the aboutus.org site is showing a screenshot of your site and displaying text from your site, is this a breach of copyright as there is no opt out ?

eNOM is becoming greedy ... people need to start switching away from eNOM, as they don't care anymore about their clients privacy or copyright. They just wanna make more money out of your domain and your trademark. Mother effers! :mad: :mad:

Just submitted a ticket to the enom support center asking where in the domain control panel I could turn off/control the information that is displayed on aboutus.org/[domain name] and listed on the whois page.

Here's the reply:
Hello Keith,
The ability to Opt-Out of the whois display has not been implimented yet. I don't have an ETA for when this will go live, they they are adding it at the request of our customers.

I have also complaind to eNom and I've sent this email to information.com (http://information.com/forms/feedback.html) and revenue.net (http://revenue.net/contact.mas), and encourage you to do the same...

Recently, eNom have added a link to AboutUs.org to the whois records of domains registered at eNom. As an owner of domains registered at eNom, I vehemently object to this practice. Since your domain appears as links to my domain on that website, I'm requesting you to reconsider your relationship with eNom.com/AboutUs.org. I have taken the voting opportunity to vote your domain a 1-star rating on that site and will continue to do so for all my other eNom registered domains. I am also encouraging all other domain holders with domain registered at eNom and who object to eNom providing the Aboutus.org link in their whois records to do the same.
