I was wondering what the these os are:
BSD/OS
IRIX
Do they fall under the Unix/Linux or WinNt categories?
And does that mean that if lets say IRIX is NT then it can use it's database software?
Thanks

linux is a flavor of Unix

BSD is a flavor of Unix
however thats where they similarities end.
they are completely different operating systems
Bsd was developed by Berkley

Sorry, I was just answering the question above, but I see now how it that looked. I should have said BSD falls under the Unix/Linux catagory.
