Hi folks,
Does anyone know the address of the public whois server for .es domains? We need to put it into our domains/billing software but can't find one anywhere.
Cheers

I don't think Spain has a traditional (43 port) whois server.

Hi,
Yeah - I seem to be finding that from most people I speak to. I just can't work out how some websites are able to do lookups :(

https://www.nic.es/ may help. I don't undertand Spanish, but you might find the information helpful :)

Hi,
As mentioned, ESNIC does not have (http://www.iana.org/root-whois/es.htm)a standard whois server which can be accessed through port 43.
The Agentes Registradores (https://www.nic.es/agentes/red.html) (Registrar Agents) are companies accredited by ESNIC (The Registry/Registrar) for registering .es domains. These companies can add some IP addresses into a white list that allow them to perform WHOIS lookups via web service.
Best regards,

Which still isn't a true whois server... :(
