I ordered a server (Mercury project, good deal!) 2 days ago but i'm still waiting... i'm wondering if that server will be ready before the week end... :(

are there any customers who know how much time they usually need? I've sent two emails but no answers yet

The most it takes is around 4 days.

mood,

Not sure, but I'm assuming we've advised you before, that we had a stock of servers come pre-built for us (45), but... they were built with IBM hard-drives.

As, IBM hdds are not stable enough for server use, as the recommended hourly use per month is way below the normal hours you would run your server 24/7, we have ordered a new stock of hdds, mainly maxtor and western digital hdds, we should have most servers setup by today or tuesday at the latest.

The, servers are here, the only problem was, the IBM hdds.

Please be patient as we are working round the clock to solve this issue, you will be notified as soon as your server is ready, and billing wont re-occur before the date you got access to your server.

Kind Regards
Imran

P.S. NOTE to IBM hdd users please dont flame my comments as we wish to supply our clients with the most stable hardware on the market, IBMs in our opinion are not the best.

EDIT, I forgot to add we had a problem with our mail server which is now fixed, thats probably why we havent responded to any mail tickets.

Just a sucker for good deals ;)

I can back up Imran on this... my server with another host had 2x40gb IBMs - both died.

My home PC has 3x60gb IBMS that I got last september, and already they are showing bad sectors.

Now I have 2x80gb Maxtors and it is MUCH better.

The secret with IBM drives is getting the right models and being lucky. IBM has some of the fastest models on the market, but some die in no time, while others last and last. I use IBM's in my PC here and they're running smoothly, but I treat them well. Got some nice HD coolers for them, as temperature is one of the factors that make certain IBM drives go bad. I did have one IBM drive die on my in my previous PC, but the data loss was close to nothing and it was replaced within 48 hours by IBM.

Its been over a week now for us.. Hopefully we see it our beast online before tuesday, as far as I know, they don't set up servers on the weekend :(

Our last server was delayed a week because they ran out of IP's.

Im just happy they don't bill you from the time they order. The next bill will come 30 days after the server is set up. :)

Wow, those are long setup times above (one week and two weeks) for a server. If I ordered a server from a dedicated hosting company, I would expect it within a few days at most, usually the same day though. But I guess eServers dot Biz is a growing company, and they do get a LOT of orders, so they're trying their best to keep up with the orders.

i can see that they have charged my Credit Card . . . but without delivering the goods....They are about one week past the time they said it would be ready...hmmm...

I guess its a good price, and the company seems to be ok as well...I just wish i would have known about this issue...however I asked them quite firmly WHEN it would be ready before i ordered...What could i do more...

Setup times slip - I waited a while for mine, but once I got my Dual P3 1.13 system, I don't regret waiting!
