Anyone here using OLM's new Reseller Server Environments (RSE) plans? They're not on their regular OLM or Webaxxs sites, they're at http://olmnetworks.com/

Description and pricing is http://olmnetworks.com/pages/r-benefits.html

I'm wondering how people think they compare to the older OLM/Webaxxs reseller plans Ultimate/Platinum. I'm trying to decide where to go to set up as a very small reseller to service personal contacts and my web design clients, and to host a few small sites of my own.

I've heard mostly good things about OLM, but their multitude of plans is confusing. And now they have these new RSE plans, but I don't know if they are a better route than the older plans. Any comments and opinions are welcome.

I moved to it a short while ago. I like it alot, it gives
me alot of flexibilty. I had a few bumps with things I wasnt sure of but there supports been great. It seems there going out of there way to make sure clients are happy with the new plans.

I'm not sure better or worse would be the term when looking at this; rather different. I have been a successful OLM reseller for quite some time now. with their Ultimate reseller plan. When the new RSE accounts came out I wanted to switch my accounts to them, but was told it might not be an easy switch. What I did was just to open a second account with an RSE1. So far it's been great, and I can even manage my own DNS, and offer ASP. I also don't have to pay for addons like telnet accounts and parked domains, since I can set up as many as I need with root access. Well luck with whatever company you decide to go with!

Parked domains redirected to subdirectories on the webmaster plan don't behave normally. If you park and redirect ExtraDomain.com to MainDomain/Extra, it will appear in a visitor's browser as ExtraDomain.com/Extra. That final subfolder always shows, messing up search engines or bookmarks if you ever switch it to full hosting.

What about your parked domains on RSE1? Do they work like OLM webmaster account as above, or do they appear normally?

Any time cgi based redirection is used to point a domain
to a subdirectory the results you described will be the same. Their is no set script or feature provided for redirection on the RSE's. At 3.00/month for a domain
I just setup real accounts, rather than playing with redirection. I know you can use the mod_rewrite engine in a .htaccess file on the domain to do this so the URL dont change but dont know the entries that need to be made.
