I have a video clip that was sent to me from a friend but I can't figure out whatplayer ro format it is in. The extension is .avi but it won't play in Real Player, Windows media player, or QuickTime.

Here is the information... Let me know if you have any ideas.

Height: 272 pixels

Audio

Bit Rate: 95kbps
Audio Format: MPED Layer-3

Video

Fram rate: 25 frames/second
Data rate: 99kbps

You need the DVD-MPEG Add on Pack for media player do a search on the net ;)

Isn't DVD-MPEG MPEG2? Anyway, you'll need MPEG4 (Also known as Divx, I believe). Run a search for 'divx codec' or 'mpeg4 codec' and you'll probably find it quickly.

As allera said you will need the Divx Codec.
