View Full Version : Anyone here live in London England?
lexington 09-18-2006, 03:09 PM | Hello, could you please tell me if you have access to usa NBA games in London? Or if you have a satellite service that offers that, what is the name of that company? Thanks :) |
ALGORYTHM 09-18-2006, 03:18 PM Sky's satellite offering is the most popular way to get NBA in the UK.

lexington 09-18-2006, 03:22 PM | Thanks a lot. Would you happen to know if League Pass is offered over in London? |
lexington 09-18-2006, 04:04 PM Man is sky the only source? All of their emails are dead, their contact forms error, and I was placed on hold forever with no answer when I called. |
dale1991 09-18-2006, 04:13 PM Telewest do, other known as NTL. |
lexington 09-18-2006, 04:41 PM Great, yes I just found out about NTL and that service looks better. So did you mean that you know that NTL offers NBA league pass? |
Kemik 09-18-2006, 04:56 PM NBA isn't very popular in England, but I saw things like US Baseball, basketball, and american football on random channels late at night.
Like, the other day I watched 10 minutes of American football on Channel five at 1am. |
lexington 09-18-2006, 04:59 PM Thanks, yes I am aware of American sports are not that popular in England. I was curious to know if they offer the NBA League Pass service. I have already contacted their sales team and hopefully I will get an answer. |

Sounds unlike Sky, I always get through to them pretty quick, and their emails work fine. |

I'm not sure Sky's sales are open at 9pm at night anyway, might of sat forever.
Sky Sports will show a few games a week I would of thought. Other likely channel is NASN (North American Sports Network I think) who show a lot of baseball and the CFL. Sky Sports show a fair amount of NFL. Channel 5 also show Baseball and NFL.
Other than that you probably won't find much more American sport. I guess a few people do watch it when it's on, but the main problem is simply the timing. For example the NFL on Channel 5 tonight starts at 1am. |
KI-ChrisE 09-18-2006, 07:02 PM From what I recall Sky's number is available from 8 till 11.
Maybe be wrong there but I recall ringing them late at night on several occassions. |
lexington 09-19-2006, 08:51 AM Weird I am surprised you guys are not sure. If you were to ask me about American TV I can give you the channels, networks, and any other information. I guess TV isn't as popular over there? |
KI-ChrisE 09-19-2006, 08:55 AM There isn't an NBA League Pass in the UK, as shown on their page here:
http://www.nba.com/nba_tv/league_pass.html
All you need is Sky Sports 3 and Xtra. I believe you can get these with Sky / NTL and Telewest. |
tree-host 09-19-2006, 09:40 AM If you asked up about english sports, or internatinal sports, someone would probably know theexact chanel (Skysports 1 for Cricket, ITV for F1 racing) but the NBA really isnt something that many people watch, as far as i know, as most of the games are shown in the early hours of the morning.
a quick google search tho

Looks like you will need Sky sports 1, Five and NASN |

Of course TV is popular over here. What isn't popular is American sports only shown at 1am in the morning! |
Kemik 09-19-2006, 11:39 AM We prefer real sports like Rugby League.
Widnes Vikings for promotion :) |
