heres an idea.. how about instead of ALWAYS routing almost every cable internet user and other timewarner backboned hosts though the broke ass down every other day wanna be Tw GigE link you let it find the fastest path to hosts which for the most part isnt though your tw line?

(from my cable)
traceroute to 64.246.28.16 (64.246.28.16), 64 hops max, 40 byte packets
5 pop2-chi-P4-0.atdn.net (66.185.148.77) 11.566 ms 25.881 ms 9.757 ms
6 bb2-chi-P0-1.atdn.net (66.185.148.66) 11.757 ms 32.405 ms 10.180 ms
7 bb2-vie-P10-0.atdn.net (66.185.153.150) 31.741 ms 51.167 ms 35.880 ms
8 pop1-vie-P5-0.atdn.net (66.185.139.83) 30.239 ms 40.766 ms 31.806 ms
9 TimeWarnerTelecom.atdn.net (66.185.139.114) 31.469 ms 41.279 ms 34.838 ms
10 core-02-so-3-2-0-0.chrl.twtelecom.net (168.215.53.129) 48.435 ms 59.199 ms 49.061 ms
11 core-02-so-2-2-0-0.dlfw.twtelecom.net (168.215.53.65) 49.731 ms 54.888 ms 51.433 ms
12 dist-01-so-0-0-0-0.hsto.twtelecom.net (168.215.53.62) 53.538 ms 67.044 ms 57.842 ms
13 66.162.210.250 (66.162.210.250) 54.945 ms 56.381 ms 69.223 ms
14 * 66.162.210.2 (66.162.210.2) 85.293 ms *
15 * * tayhou-223-36.ev1.net (207.218.223.36) 62.210 ms
16 * 64.246.28.16 (64.246.28.16) 62.811 ms 61.609 ms

(trace from the box back to me [connected to the box from one which wasnt routed though the tw line])

traceroute to my-rr-cable, 30 hops max, 38 byte packets
1 64.246.28.1 (64.246.28.1) 0.506 ms 0.417 ms 0.222 ms
2 tayhou-223-4.ev1.net (207.218.223.4) 0.959 ms * *
3 * * *
4 66.162.210.249 (66.162.210.249) 9.701 ms * *
5 * * *
6 * * *
7 * pop1-dal-P7-1.atdn.net (66.185.141.53) 61.827 ms *
8 bb2-dal-P0-0.atdn.net (66.185.141.61) 16.136 ms * 16.001 ms
9 bb2-kcy-P6-0.atdn.net (66.185.154.10) 27.056 ms * 27.299 ms
10 bb1-kcy-P1-0.atdn.net (66.185.154.5) 27.197 ms * *
11 * bb1-chi-P6-0.atdn.net (66.185.154.1) 51.376 ms *
etc..

and no this isnt the first time this happened i wouldnt post if it was its happened more than a few times but this time they still (been like an hour now) havent routed it though another line last time it went on the high latency savvis line....

peace.

Well... I would imagine this is how they are making money (not the broken down part, but the routing of all traffic out the cheaper pipes).

I mean, sure it would be great to have EVERYONES routes going out rackshack's verio link or <insert your favorite rackshack link here> but face it, that just aint going to happen.
