I know that similar topics have been discussed 1000's of times, but I have been searching for nearly 4 hours for the right software. Here is what I need:

1. Simple client management of hosting and domain subscriptions.

2. Dashboard that will alert when a client is near end of term.

Basically we deal with local clients only and get billed from our business. Right now I just have an Excel sheet with my clients listed and their expiration dates for hosting with us and domains. To clarify it would all be done in the backend and no client sees or takes part in this billing software. No need for any automation other than keeping track of when its time to bill for another year. Currently we have about 5 clients and dont see us having more than 10.

Any suggestions???

Phpcoin is a free billing software. But, I dont have personal experience with it.

Phpcoin is one of the better free billing softwares, I'd recommend it in your situation.

I recommend PHP Coin too. I have had a good experince with it.

There are only a few hosts that offer clientexec "free" with reseller packages. The clientexec is just built into their price whether you use it or not.
