Hi,

One of my client is looking for 350 MB win2k based webhosting with 5 domains and 5 individual SQL databases. When i offered him my prices he told me that he is getting the above package from Interland in around total US$ 35 per month...which means hosting for 5 domains on windows server and every domain has its own SQL database. Seeing the prices of Interland I wonder if its possible. He says that he'd got a reseller relationship with interland and Interland is willing to offer him the hosting at this price.

I wonder if he's just trying to bring down my prices or Interland is really offering so low prices .. Can any one comment ???

Makes you wonder...

If he's got a relationship with Interland, and they are willing to offer the hosting at that price, then why is he trying to get you to match it? Why does he want to host it with you and not Interland?

Also, if you go to a company who offers to match or beat any quote, you are required to provide them with a copy of that quote. You cant just tell them that's the price you are quoted. They will know you are trying to scam them.

I would stick to your pricing set-up , unless he can give you solid proof ( which he probably won't ) that he can get it that cheap.

I have yet to see a Low Priced Windoze host , cause the cost of the license itself is so expensive..

I bet he's just playing you.

I'm a Interland reseller. The cheapest plans they have would be the Freedom account. I pay 149.00/month for a Freedom 400 acct. to host 30 domains (pluse 20.00 to set each one up) with unlimited db.

They have a Freedom 250 plan that costs 67.95/month if you pay 2 years in advance plus a 49.95 setup fee.

I think someone is jerking your chain.

Interland annoys me and I won't bore you with the details but suffice it to say I've setup a new account elsewhere.

Yaik! Stay away... and I mean it! These guys are too busy buying other hosting companies out than taking care of their own stuff.

I have 4 clients on their servers and they are stuck there. I do whatever I can to help but most I suggested to go with ApolloHosting or whatever MIVA site suggested.

Do you know how it's like to be on HOLD for 4.3 hours for support! LMAO... Personally I didn't care because I was helping out a friend and clients.

If those guys were local to me and had a server there or a site and if 90% of my business was web based and their servers crash as often as I've seen I'd be driving there knocking on their door and make sure they fix it.

They are having so many problems that they were blaming us for causing them by using a welcome page with a:

<meta http-equiv="refresh"

That would re-forward people to the Miva shopping cart. We than designed a static welcome page, than link to miva. Double work but we did otherwise they were going to pull the plug on this site.

I call them up I talk to different technicians and ask them how many sites on the server that the site is located it on. One guy says 600, another guy says 1,000. What doesn't make sense and I told them. You are telling me that we are making your server time-out and we're crashing it... but at the same time you are not doing anything about it. Or you are telling me that if we are crashing it 600 other domains are going down as well... BUNCH of BS. They move our site to a different server, than moves it back to the old one. Don't know why but... my client still has issues. I suggested he pay about 60 more and get himself a dedicated server/colo, but than again he needs managed.

If you need Win2k hosting read WHT and shop around... what is the reason you need Win2k? SQL Server? Why not *NIX which is cheaper...
