How can I set the reverse DNS in GoDaddy, not my own nameservers?

Thanks! :P

Are you hosting your DNS at godaddy?

If you don't know, give us your domain name.

Yea, for this domain I'm using GoDaddy's nameservers. With that being said, I would be using there domain manager with their Total DNS tool.

Do you want to assign a PTR record for the nameservers you are using, or you want to assign a PTR record for an off-network ip address?

Each of these are controlled by the datacenter. Unless you want to declare an A record to match a PTR record that your datacenter had setup.

I want to setup a PTR record so I can use a vhost on my box. The IP is on the box.

Where is the box? The datacenter that the box is at handles the PTR record.

You could put up a BIND server on your box, and set your nameservers to your own, be your own authoritative DNS server. And then ask your provider to delegate a domain for DNS. :)

I sent in a support ticket to SolarVPS, Ross set them up in about 5 minutes! Everything works! Thanks for the advice.

Actually, I've noticed a tendency that people are starting demand from registrars too much...

it's easy to be confused as registrars offer hosting as well, or offer dns services that are normally on the hosting side...
