View Full Version : Best Billing Software for Webhosts
CX.Eric 09-10-2006, 06:44 PM I made this thread because i saw alot of votes on this thread:
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=546167
A poll would be better, please vote for the best billiing software and post a reason here.
My vote goes to ModernBill ive heard some good reviews and ive sene some demos so far i like it but ive never used it.
ClientExec doesnt give attractive signup pages, and has this annoying domain search before signing up form, no templates for the script at its site, auto approval is not provided ( might be false it could be that i didnt find that option to turn it on ).
All in all slow loading pages takes 20 secs to login to my admin area, and ive made sure that its not a server problem, the same problem is with CE's main site.
Hope that helps.
I would like a really really good billing software just dont know which one =/
This poll could help easy the decision.
Regards
Lpal-Jay 09-10-2006, 06:58 PM I think rather then listening to what people have to say here, that you go out and test the products in the poll above and see what you prefer and why. Everyone will always have different preferences and it will not always suit the way you want to run your business. You shouldn't just choose a product only on reviews, you have to see it in action and test it out quite thoroughly otherwise you might find yourself in a similar situation as you are in now.
However sticking with this topic, I do like WHMCS because it is simple and does get the job done whereas we had problems with other software which are just a pain as you really only want something that works and works well.
MKHosting 09-10-2006, 06:58 PM I started off with clientexec, then moved to WHM Auto Pilot, and then to modernbill. Modernbill is the best i have ever used and would highly recommend it.
Liam80 09-10-2006, 07:00 PM I've only used ClientExec and I think it's great! However I know alot of people who have been using ModernBill and think that's great too.
I agree, you should test them out and see which one you like the best as people have different opinions.
cartika-andrew 09-10-2006, 07:35 PM Hello Dluzion,
I am not sure how far along you are in the process, but, I would highly recommend you tried out hsphere. If you are using cpanel currently, you can migrate your customers pretty seamlessly.
Anyway, hsphere is complete automation and will handle every aspect of your billing/invoicing in real time and automatically. Additionally, you can run any report you like and will have a full spread of data at your finger tips (again in real time)
It handles signup, activation, fraud detection, plan upgrades, overages, invoicing and autamatic payment.
Hope this helps...
Net Layer 09-10-2006, 07:38 PM In your list, you have forgotten Ubersmith: http://www.ubersmith.com :). They are good as billing software for webhosts too.
thinkaholic 09-10-2006, 11:55 PM I voted Other for www.awbs.com
nasal tuft 09-11-2006, 12:25 AM We purchased agilebill whilst this application promises a lot the development of new features seems to have stopped a long time ago. The upgrade costs to the most recent version is more than the origional purchase price. We regret ever purchasing this product.
CX.Eric 09-11-2006, 12:35 AM I have looked into both of those but none of those seem really good but each lack in at least 5 features compared to mb and ce.
and ubersmith si really good imho.
Kemik 09-11-2006, 04:15 AM WHMCS. It's got all the features you need, without it being all cluttered and hard to use.
Hmmm I think it'd be modernbill, but like the above replies said, try them out. see which one works for you.
CX.Eric 09-11-2006, 07:27 AM Well this thread is for everyone's personal opinion, so doesnt matter what anyone else thinks, i want reviews from pros here.
And i just got a modernbill trial, amazing..just amazing...its based on micro management.
Kemik 09-11-2006, 08:15 AM OK.
Modernbill - Full of features, but bug ridden. Most expensive solution. Not really experienced the support.
Client Exec - Very nice looking and easy to use for both clients and staff. Includes a ticket system but lacking one or two key features. Great support and active community forums but you have to be a customer to view them.
WHMCS - Nice looking, easy to use. Relatively low price and includes a ticket system, knowledge base and affiliate system. Has had some bugs with the latest version, but they were ironed out within a week or so of release. Has great support from very knowledgable staff. Active community forum with members starting to create addons for the system.
2Macs Jim 09-11-2006, 08:16 AM I voted for other, we use H-Sphere, it's completly automated and comprehensive!
thewebhostingdir 09-11-2006, 08:45 AM I don't think so IPANEL is billing software. It is for free hosting business.
Clevich 09-13-2006, 03:11 AM I don't know what you're saying about the ugly clientexec signup, but I got a nice one www.entityarts.net/billing/signup.php
Sohan 09-13-2006, 03:18 AM I can't believe you missed AWBS :|
jerett 09-13-2006, 08:31 AM I like ClientExec - though I can see why many go with MB because of it's features or AWBS but CE has added many new features that make it rich as well. Not to mention they continue to put out updates that include many new features each time. Just have alook at their site.
CX.Eric 09-13-2006, 09:40 AM I take it back MB NOT SO GOOD after all i tried it so not impressed
and clevich i sent you a pm about that signup page :)
MKHosting 09-13-2006, 09:53 AM I take it back MB NOT SO GOOD after all i tried it so not impressed
Which version did you try? I hate version 5, version 4 is good.
CX.Eric 09-13-2006, 10:00 AM I tried v5 it was so freaking hard!!!
And the paypal module didnt quite work it does not take them to page where they pay, it takes the person to a page with a button where he can subscribe...reeeal pro looking lol
I like CE better my first billing soft buy and its awesome it makes the paypal subscribtions and makes it look good also has 2checkout =D
Just the signup page is a little...ugly...
stoneis 09-13-2006, 10:20 AM You forgot HSPc , a completely integrated solution but quite expensive.
CX.Eric 09-13-2006, 10:22 AM If you mean Hsphere, then its ok i guess but not that good
stoneis 09-13-2006, 10:32 AM No, I was talkking about HSPcomplete from SWsoft.
It completely integrates with plesk.
