I think they call these stock photos, I have no idea why, anyhow search here for the word stock and or photos or whatnot, and you should get some results, because this has been asked once or twice before.

Do a search for "royalty free images" on google. You will get bunch of those.

Instead of hiring a photographer to shoot something to your specifications, you are buying photos that have been sold by a photographer for general use. Stock photos have long been used in print publishing, and there is also stock video, etc. For example, a director making a movie and needing a shot of, say, an airplane touching down might use stock footage for that purpose
