A friend of mine registered a domain name with an Irish company on the 7th of sept. They are charging alot for hosting so i'm moving them to my server and my domain account at namecheap.com

My current host said i have to wait 60 days before i can move the domains over to Name Cheap

Can anyone let me know if that is correct.

You can move the account to your server at any time, however, to change of registrar, yes, you have to wait (I think that 30 days, but I'm not sure), but for sure, there's a wait time.

ok thanks, my current host are saying 60 days.. but it's no real problem, I'll just change the DNS and use my server.

Yes, that´s true you will have to wait 60 days, than when you transfer the domain you should get one year extension for the domain after is expiring date.
