Dears,

I just auctioned a name acouple of days ago.

The previous owner pushed it at the registrar in my account.

I locked the domain.

I do a lookup at the registrars whois function and it shows the previous owners data.

Question:
1.) Do I need to do something to get the whois information beeing updated?
2.) I used an Escrow service for the purchase. Do I need to wait, until my WHOIS information is visible before I release the payments to the previous owner?

Is there anything I need to take (be aware) - not beeing ripped off?

Thanks so much for your information in advance.

Silly question - have you updated domain's whois details after receiving it in your account?

Stan thanks a lot for your reply.

Nope, not a silly question at all - I wasn't aware about that I need to change it, thought if it moves into my account it updates the data.

Thanks again answering even such silly question.

It depends where the domain is registered. Each registrar does things slightly differently. It's always best to check the whois details for your domain after the push/transfer.

Also, changes don't show up immediately. Usually fairly quickly, but can be up to 24 hours.

If you do a whois at the registrar where the domain is registered, I'd say 2 minutes is a long time. Of course, if you use a generic whois, you will need to wait for the changes to propogate over the internet.

update the whois info and check them at the registrar itself.

make sure to reset everything including the domain password
