Im not sure if this is the EXACT place to post this but since this is where most of the "beware" posts go i might as well put it on here.

Anyways It was brought to my attention today that Ryan Quinn of http://www.rpquinn.com/ was a member on the forum which i completley forgot because i have been side tracked with other projects. His user name is RyanPQ on here, anyways he is a "programmer", of some sorts but to my experiance everything was fine and dandy until I started pointing out things he was messing up, missing features in my project, etc... Then all the sudden he skipped off with extra money he had charged me to finish the project and features that I supposibly "failed" to elaborate on. The funny thing is now that the project of question is being brought up, He wrote a review on his porftiolio for my site! After he skipped off with the unfinished project.

Since the cost of the project was only about $120.00 total Its pointless to take legal action, I just want to give his reputation my 2 cents and let everyone know of the bad business, thanks.

EDIT:
Also, i would never bash or hurt any professionals reputation, so if Mr. Quinn is a human being and wants to just finish the project (and this is from about 45 days ago) then i will gladly let everyone know that he has fixed his mistakes.

I have to add my two cents here as well. We hired Ryan for a server setup project and for constructing a website for another project. We have paid him for his services, yet we can not find him to finish either project. I talked with his former employer and found out, after the fact, that this is his long term way of doing things.

I would avoid him in the future as well. Unless he makes things right with us.

Yes, thanks for posting, i'll also bare this in mind.

Would it be a good idea for someone to suggest that a sub-forum be set up somewhere on WHT to cater from just the 'beware' threads, as they will get easily lost in here.

Just an idea,

Mike

That would be a good idea. We have lots of beware threads.

On the site it says development time 2 weeks :stickout:

Where did you see that? It is 1 week on the front page.

On the front page. It scrolls through all the work he has "done" for his clients :)

On the other work he has done. It would seem his work takes around 1-2 weeks.

Woot how is this thread even remotely connected to the "hosting" aspect of wht ? But thanks , thats why i do not hire programmers from forums or wht :).

I suppose since this is about a programmer, it belongs in the Programming Discussion forum :)

Moved.

I dare say your right.

TeleSouthNet, just wondering how much he scammed you of? Even it is just a small amount, it sounds like he has done the same to more than one company. Someone should take some action against him.

My experience with Ryan has been quite plesant. After hiring him for a small website job, the project was complete overnight. Although there were a few problems, he fixed them free of charge.

I see nothing wrong with him, but that's just me.

I can not say that he has scammed us. It is only a hundred bucks. I think he has simply found something more interesting or profitable and has gotten tired of waiting for our client to move the project forward.

It frustrates the heck outta me as I think hes basically nice capable guy and has the potiential to have a really successful career. But he is giving up that potiential.
