They are very new. Their site is a bit shy on details too, IMO. :)

Yes, I use AOL email because I have a computer and a laptop of which the laptop I cannot use Outlook on. And also incase any downtime does occur, I'd like to still be available to my clients.

And yes, E-Starr is still very new. The server is still fresh and we are building up somewhat quickly. Server upgrades are our next step, probably happening next month. Other than this there is no scheduled downtime. I normally host personal domains/portfolio domains.

Downtime in our past three months has been rare. Once was because of an attack early in the first month and the other was because our network on DV2 was down, although I believe they're supposed to have 100% uptime. The server itself was still fully functional. Neither lasted longer than 5 minutes.

If you'd like any more information please feel free to ask. Otherwise, I don't believe you'll find any of my clients posting here.

Estarr good luck with your hosting venture...

Mikiyo maybe you should give them ago! Just because there new it doesnt mean there a bad company and with there servers been at Dv2 thats a plus also.

Estarr has a good valid point about the ISP email address she is using, every host should have one and this should not be laughed at.

Just my 10 cents

Kind regards,

I've had my eye on E-Starr's 30 Gigs of transfer. I'm going to take another account somewhere before this weekend. I think I'll give Ms. Soesbee's company a try. Besides, it's a literate and attractive website. Hush! It's as good a reason as any to try someplace new.

But I'm curious: What's a "portfolio" domain. Am I embarassing myself by not knowing this?

E-Starr's great- I'm on their shared hosting right now- the support is there for you and the plans are a great deal.

A portfolio domain probably refers to art portfolio sites, writings, graphics and even weblogs. Teenagers are more into this stuff which is probably why a lot of teens use e-starr as a webhost. ;)

Portfolios are normally to show work, whatever type it may be. In most cases online it would be a webdesign portfolio, in which most people sell their designs or just show them off.
