Hi all.. really need you SOLID advise.. I am getting ready to open a merchant account. All I need is a 3rd party processor at the moment!!

Looking at HostCharge.. What do you think about them? Also, checked out 2Checkout and ClickBank.. What's your thoughts on these as well....

I like them all.. HostCharge seems good because they are specific to the industry. Heard lot's of good things about 2CO as well.. And looking at ClickBank, well their affiliate program is pretty good.. Have made some good "affiliate" money there..

You can either post here or PM me if you have other recomendations..

THANKS

P.S. I have read a lot of posts already, so PLEASE don;t tell me to ready more... :D

My vote goes to 2checkout.. Atleast until you get your merchant account..

my vote goes to 2checkout because of the following reasons:
- easy setup, no faxing, no nonsense
- cheap payment options (checks are free, wire transfer is free if above $1200)

I used to like hostcharge because they charge 4.5% compared to 2checkout's 5.5% but after seriously adding in the other factors, 2checkout is more worthwhile.

for eg.
- 2checkout has no monthly fee, hostcharge has
- for every $100 wire transferred, 2checkout deduct $5 from the $36 wire transfer fee, hostcharge only deducts a super low $0.50. (this is the main reason why i'm going for 2checkout. imagine, if i wire transfer $1200 with 2checkout, it's free. with hostcharge, it will be about US$30, also with hostcharge, wire transfer is never free, the lowest is $4)
- 2checkout sends check for free, hostcharge charges
- 2checkout has great forum support, well hostcharge is simply too slow

as you can see, the 1% diff is actually nothing compared to the savings you will have if you opt for 2checkout. However, there is still one thing missing from 2checkout, a Paypal IPN-style system.

now, that would be perfect....

I'm using both of ClickBank and 2CO.
Both of them is reliable and provide good support.

But ClickBank does not provide recurring billing option and could not wire transfer your money.

Also 2CO has a good fraud checker (they even give us a warning if the buyer tried to enter the CC number several times)

good luck.

Take a look at ECHO (www.echoinc.com) and Ematic (www.ematic.com).

2CheckOut is definately best of all the usual 3rd party processors you hear about, however. (HostCharge, Revecom, PayPal, ClickBank, etc.) I use 2CO presently, and have been very happy.

ECHO looks good because you can start off doing 3rd party processing like 2CheckOut and move into a merchant account. Or, just start out with a merchant account. Definately the cheapest I've ever seen. They have a special that's $99 to start, and $10/month (only if you have sales), and that's merchant account included. I've yet to try them, however.

I would recommend 2CO but I will not, since i'm starting to get tired of non-aswered emails, for example last mail I sent (regarding check arrival), was sent to payments mail 2 times and 1 to Darcey...so far no answer!

Its kinda sad that I only get answered via TomD (using most of the time WHT private messages.. :( )

We have various other features which no one offers. On a side note about wire transfers, soon we'll be offering EFT (free) to canada and usa, and very low cost wire transfers.

as you say:
- 2checkout has great forum support, well hostcharge is simply too slow

how exactly are we slow? we answer questions within 15 minutes....

Dear Sir/Madam,

We have an account with 2checkout.com, and our monthly transactions is over USD 2,000, at the first month of our payment, we counted each and every transaction in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet . There are over 50 transactions on that months. Each being charge of USD 0.45 per transaction. There is a diffence of about USD 2, if we counted with 5.5%, however, when we change the percentage to 5.511%, it exactly match the figure that 2checkout pay to us.

Has any one notice this??
OR it is our problems only??

I contacted 2heckout for this, they reply and say it is a rounding problems.
I though the rounding is a standard?? 0.1 to 0.4 is 0, while 0.5 to 0.9 become 1??
Has anyone notice this at all??

Please help and would like to find out why.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Liew
