They are the #1 recommended site (see link below). However, I learned my lesson with C I H-o-s-t and will never sign up for another webhosting package until I check here.

Is this review objective?

Many of the posts you'll find here:

make me suspect that EITHER there is an undisclosed business relationship between Feature-Price and the "10-Best" Web site OR the people at the "10-Best" Web site don't know what they're talking about. No matter which one is true, I'd stay away from Feature-Price.

I have been using FeaturePrice for one of my domains since May 4, 2002. So far there are no real issues. I wanted to try them because they use FreeBSD as an operating system (not many web host use it) and wanted to play around with it. Also the price was right and they can take multipe domains, so if my other webhosts have a major problem I can load the other sites there in an emergency.

Several things set off red flags.

- First, they have an unlimited disk space plan.
- Second, they offer "unlimited" bandwidth which is really moderated to 7 MB per hour. They give you a large amount of space but not much bandwidth to use that space.
- Third, they claim, "We do not provide cheap "virtual hosting" or "virtual server" solutions as many of our competitors do. Here you get FULL PHYSICAL HOSTING. What does this mean? This means that with this physical hosting account you will be able to host your very own domain name: www.yourname.com" They offer virtual hosting, so they're liars. They obviously don't know what virtual hosting means.
- Fourth, just search the forum and you'll see some other reasons to avoid them.

my opinion of featureprice is that they are AWFUL. run by amateurs and children. i won't bother going into it further since many others have on this forum.

just want to comment on the 10-best-web thing: that domain is registered by fathi@aon.net -- i.e. fathi said, the guy who set up featureprice.com, so yes it is a total scam. he's got his fingers in pies all over the web. somebody should report him and his companies to the better business bureau.

in fact i think *i* will.

Here is my story:

I had pre-paid $84.40 for an annual service, regarding website hosting. I signed up initially because of the live technical support in April of 2002. However, in July 2002, I called technical support only to find out they were now routing calls to technical support and there no longer was a live technician w/ which to speak. Yet, they still call their support "live" with a 3 hour call back. Unacceptable. I called Florida office requesting a refund. They only accept requests via email at billing@featureprice.com Vendor refuses to respond to emails concerning refund. Vendor offered international telephone number for billing resolution. However the number answers with a fax. This number is posted on their website at featureprice.com (International: +43 – 7942-72493 ) They also offer a 1-800 number for international correspondence on their web site but this too is not forwarded to their foreign office. Instead it reaches the Florida office that refuses to assist with billing questions.

i just found this forum through an***tech fews week ago, after read some of the post, darn, it's hard to find a decent host w/ a decent price and a good track record. and that just for some of my low traffic sites. i can imagine how much harder if i got a high traffic site, that much be a nightmare trying to find a good host.

How about selling an account and the admin panel is not working.... AND tech support is nowhere to be found? Not good! Good thing I live a stones through from their offices..... it will make it convenient when I bring them to small claims court if they refuse to acknowledge my refund request. Now... where is that URL to the BBB?

I guess the ONLY feature is the price...

Nothing like a good first impression.

Wow,
I'm glad I read this thread (and others) about featureprice.com, I was almost ready to sign up with them! The weird thing is that I live in Ft. Myers where they are located! (Born and raised). Let me know if anyone needs any help getting their money back, I'll go to their office and "NOC" :D on their door!!!

FeaturePrice kicked to the curb in October last year. They WERE ok but they fell apart.

Hey, RSPHOTO....

I'd be very curious to know if that photo on their site showing that slick operation is REALLY THERE ;-) ? Have you SEEN their building ?

Hey, since you are not connected with them... perhaps you can send them the URL to THESE remarks... ;-) Not that they would give a hoot ;-/

I have only been with 2 different hosts and by far featureprice is the worse! Technical support is very very weak, their 24 hour toll free number kicks you off after 5 minutes of wait time to keep their costs down. They have not responded to any emails that I have sent them over the last 2 weeks. Even though I have paid in full for an entire year, they suspended my site because I canceled my credit card and don't have a new one on file. Would have been nice to have a warning first so I could get my files backed up. Total scammers, they cap your transfers at 21mB per hour, although they say its unmetered. The list goes on...
