According to news reports, Mick Jagger is to be knighted for his service to the music world. This is long overdue! Jagger and company have churned out some of the best music ever.

However, too bad the rest of the Stones aren't included since in my book they're a unit. They really cook.

I like most of their stuff, especially from the 70s. My favorites:
- Let it Bleed
- Sticky Fingers
- Exile on Main Street

Musician maybe - outstanding for acheivement and service? - I don't think so. Service? Yes, service. The knighthood is for "service to music", not "service to women", so it may just be appropriate.

Based on the royal family's antics, his knighthood in fact might not be appropriate. Not sure he'd want to bring himself down to their level. :)

vigor, JMD, and richy,

Looks like we're all going to have to get together some time with a case of beer, a stack of Stones albums, and a big freakin' amp. Doesn't get much better than that.

The nice thing about the Stones' music is that there's no such thing a "too loud".

I still my use my Dynaco SCA80 (built from a kit in '72) and it'll blow the doors off every house within two blocks of mine.

Anyhow, I'll bring the beer. You can bring the beer too. In fact everyone can bring the beer. Who needs food? Well, OK, I'll concede that perhaps we might need a bag of chips.

lol the amps just easier to carry down the garden. plus it has a certain ambience, takes the sharp edge of the cds nicely. stereos nothing special tho, the puter is actually better.

unfortunately i think the airfare from meeting up might cost quite a few cans lol. i cant wait for the summer to start for me:) working from home lol

Hell, I'm an old fart, prefer LPs. Although I gotta admit that I use CDs a lot 'cause they're more convenient. Got Crest of a Knave by Jethro Tull in right now.
