I'm looking for a free or cheap program to help me edit PSD files. I have some free website templates, but I need a PSD editor in order to customize them. Must be idiot-friendly as well. :D

Thanks!

You could try GIMP, I haven't tried their PSD plugin in a while but it's worth a try... might give you an idea of somewhere to look at least.

PS CS2 30 day trial should be good.

As well photoshop elements is a cost effective alternative to the full out PS.

Okay, forgive my ignorance. What is the cheapest "photoshop" product that I could use to edit the PSD files? Can you link me to a product page, etc.?

Thanks again - I appreciate the help!

Photoshop Elements (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=photoshop+elements&btnG=Google+Search)
Like PS light....limited, but functional enough for template edits.

Elements is the cheap version, the full fledged Photoshop is more like 600 lol!

Try www.gimp.org it does support PSD files and is free, I'm just not sure however how limited the PSD support is (before it had some issues with many layers and tons of filters). Give it a shot, if it's a basic PSD file you should be ok.

First sponsored link on the result page shows $49.95?
I used to have like 5 copies, free ones that came with scanners I'd bought over a few years or for clients. Might be worth visiting Ebay for it?

Yeah, if you're looking for FREE Gimp would be your best bet...like the post above noted though you may just want to visit ebay and purchase a cheap copy of elements

Gimp is the most advanced free graphic editor there is. And besides Corel the only thing that can really be compared to Photoshop. Actually I think the suggestion of Photoshop CS2 trial is a great idea. You are probably looking to finish a project and probably the only thing that will open up a photoshop file and give you FULL editing capabilities is Photoshop
