View Full Version : Help Desk/Support Software w/ Mobile Alerts?
hungry4knowhow 08-21-2006, 02:02 PM | Hey, im looking for some helpdesk/support software that will alert me via cell phone when a ticket is submitted.
I see that eKayako supports that, but in their forums some people have written that it has stopped working. Are there any other softwares that will do this for me? |
MACscr 08-21-2006, 02:16 PM why not just have it copy your cell phone email address when a new ticket is submitted? Thats what i do with my sprint phone. Every carrier in the USA has an email address that is associated with its phone number and you can send text messages to it by simply emailing that designated number. |

Yep. He's right. |
Olate 08-22-2006, 05:21 AM We use the Kayako SupportSuite product with their SMS notifications service and it has been working fine. |

This is what we do with SupportTrio. However, be aware that using the email gateway from your provider may not be reliable as a direct SMS. We've had good experiences with both T-Mobile and Sprint using their email->phone gateways. |

If they have any type of email notification, then you can put your cell phone email address in there (if so equipped). For example, SunCom gives an email alert number that is like "4042232233@tms.suncom.com". Emails sent to that address go directly to the cell phone as an SMS alert message. |
cyberdyne 09-05-2006, 04:27 PM Kayako support suit does mobile alerts. |
AvailNetworks 09-05-2006, 05:15 PM just get a pda phone and set your phone for imap mails. have it grab the emails from your mailbox that the normal support tickets go to. That way you can reply to the ticket right on your phone |
DimensionServers 09-05-2006, 05:21 PM You can wire just about any ticket based system (that emails the ticket) to your cellphone. It just a matter of setting up the email forwarder. |
Cirtex 09-05-2006, 06:35 PM just get a pda phone and set your phone for imap mails. have it grab the emails from your mailbox that the normal support tickets go to. That way you can reply to the ticket right on your phone
Not even that ;) Just check your helpdesk via your PDA when your on the road and stay on AIM/MSN/YIM/ICQ at the same time using Agilemobile for Windows Mobile 5 and everything works very nicely.
Kayako's SMS isn't that cheap I believe and Outlook or POP3 works great ;) Just setup an extra email for email notification for your phone email or pda i more than efficient.
Cheers |
DamonF 09-05-2006, 11:16 PM Just have it notify your Email when someone opens a ticket, and redirect the email to your phone email or for the notification email like before use your Mobile Phone Number Email unless you can find a helpdesk with Mobile Alerts, but as said before eSupport works. |
Chadha 09-06-2006, 04:27 AM You can easily integrate any SMS gateway in any of the helpdesk ticket creation module to get notified of any new support tickets issues. Most of the market leader SMS gatways like clickatell, funonphone, meinhoona etc. provide full source codes in ASP, PHP and other scriptng languages to integrate their SMS gateway in any of your server side codes.

e-view 09-07-2006, 09:42 AM You get so little support tickets or you want to have it for spec. department? Can anyone drop quick link to "cheap" sms gtw provider? Thanks. |
Chadha 09-08-2006, 02:59 AM Hello e-view,
I think the SMS gateway used at http://www.meinhoona.com website is very cheap. We have used their BulkSMS service and it costs about just 6.66 cents per SMS for a purchase of 10,000 SMS Credits.
Good Luck,
