Hello,

I was wondering how the guys with multiple servers deal with multiple hostnames and nameservers?

For example you have a uniform hostname you use server1.yourdomain.com and server2.yourdomain.com with ns1 & ns2. your domain for server1 and ns3 & ns4.yourdomain.com for server2.

Do you guys host yourdomain.com DNS file on a seperate server dedicated to host that yourdomain.com DNS file or do you use your registrars free DNS option or a DNS service?

The reason I ask is because we are trying to figure the best way to do this and we are worried if we DO do it this way that if the DNS for yourdomain.com goes does down its gonna bring the nameservers and hostnames down?

Any input would be appreciated.

cPanel has a great feature where it synchronizes all name servers in the cluster. This provides fault tolerance for all your name servers across multiple servers.
