Hello,
Im using ClientExec as my billing and and client management software that allows users to signup for domain names and hosting packages.

My questions is, what would be my customers domain account information be, specifically the password. Would this be set to the same as the hosting account's password automatically upon signup? I would assume so, but want to make sure. thanks

When you login to eNom click on "Registered Domains: X". You should then see a list of domains you own or purchased for your clients.

Click on a domain name and a new page will load. Scroll down a bit until you see "Domain Access Password" and then select a password for the domain that your client will use.

Your clients will then go to http://access.enom.com and login with their domain name and password that you have created for them.

Ah, i see. So i will get to determine my clients login/password before they can have access to it. It's hard to see how everything works when you have no clients yet.

Well you COULD determine their password... but it's generally nicer to ask them what they would like for their password instead. :)

I'm pretty sure that once they login they can change the password again, without your knowledge.

lol i've got well over 1000 domains in my enom account. been with them for over 3 years. I never knew this info. :)

I allow people to manage through ModernBill so it's OK, but still this would have been nice to know.

Thanks.

you can put CNAME to access.enom.com and get your own branded url such as access.kuwaitnet.net too :)

Do you use WHM (cPanel)?

If not, modify the zone file for your domain name and add:
domains 14400 IN CNAME access.enom.com.

(http://domains.YOURDOMAIN.com will forward to http://access.enom.com)

is cname just a simple domain forwarding command/feature? If it is then im familair with that...thanks. I just wish we can modify the look of access.enom.com to better match our own sites.

I'm not familiar with eNom's reseller API... but perhaps someone can comment on if it would allow you to integrate access.enom.com's features into your own software.

spend an hour or two reading at http://www.enom.com/resellers/newdocumentation.asp and you'll be able to make custom things like domreg.kuwaitnet.net fully operating system or like whoiscart/awbs/modernbill and lots more ;)

API can do magic
